Starting of April 1, train fare of the BTS system from On Nut station to Bearing station and from Wongwian Yai station to Bang Wa station will be increased from 10 baht to 15 baht.

 

Mr Suthon Arnakul, deputy director of the Office of Traffic and Transport of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, said Friday that Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang had signed an announcement to increase the elevated BTS train fare by five baht per trip for two extension routes.

 

He defended that the fare adjustment was necessary to cover up the 600 million baht expenses needed to operate the extension routes. However, he said that students were exempted from the fare increase and would still be charged at the old rate of 10 baht per trip.
