PATTAYA: -- Our picture shows 26 year old Sujitra Saelao who is the latest victim of motorcycle snatch thieves in Pattaya.

Sujitra told Pattaya News that she was returning to her hotel with her foreign boyfriend when two people on a motorcycle drew up close.

A phone belonging to her boyfriend was knocked out of his grasp and while Sujitra was picking it up the "long haired person" on the back of the bike, who they thought was a woman, grabbed her bag.

She lost a Samsung phone, 1,000 baht and some important documents.

Police were called and she pointed in the direction where the thieves fled. Cops radioed alcohol checkpoints set up throughout the city but the villains were not found.

Pattaya News said without providing any reason that it was obvious that the thieves needed money for the upcoming Songkran holidays.

We can expect a whole lot more traffic checkpoints too then, cos the cops will also need some money for the Songkran holidays.

Recently i supported the a cop with 500 Baht. He was a bit shy, so he asked me friendly and quietly to leave the 500 Baht under the motorcycle seat.
