Hong Kong Thai Visa

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm in HK next week and my thai visa expires 26th April so will need a top up on my Visa.

I heard it's a fast simple process.

To confirm

Just need to get to Admiralty station on there tube?

How far is it to walk from there or taxi?

Any specific time I should arrive?

Need to bring?

2 passport pictures ( UK size ok?)

1 completed application

1 passport

Fee of?

For 2 months?

Planning to go 18th and collect next day 19th.

Sound like a plan or did I miss something?

I'm in hk until Tuesday the following week.

As the question is about a Thai Visa from overseas I'll move this thread to the appropriate forum.

I've also removed a number of "chit chat" posts, use PM's if you want to chat.

They accept application from 09:30 to 12:30. Pickup is the next day at the same time.

The fee is 300 HKD for a single entry tourist visa.

The visa will allow one 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days at immigration.

Since the 18th is going to be the first day they are open after being closed for 5 days it may be busy.

You can  find more info on their website: http://www.thai-consulate.org.hk/web/3015.php

It will be definitely busy after holidays. I arrived there on regular Tuesday morning at 9:30 and had to wait like 10-15 minutes. Its a really small place. I would recommend coming around 9 am and wait in the line or come later during the day. Lot of people arrive exactly at 9:30 am.

About the MTR. Just get off at Admiralty station and follow exit signs to Fairmont house. Once you get on the street take more stairs to Lippo centre and then cross the bridge straight to Fairmont house. It can get a little bit confusing but if you have a google maps you will be fine. Its a 5 min walk.

You can read my old post about the visa requirements. I was there 2 weeks ago.

you can also get to fairmont house via the central mtr station.  exit J2 and you are at chater garden.  make your way to the elevated walkways and you will be at fairmont house in a couple minutes.  as noted above, get oriented via google maps.  it can be a confusing area as noted in the post before mine.  it is hard to get disoriented when you start at chater garden, you have visuals, you know when you are facing the park that you must walk to your left, etc...  instead of following signs in bldgs and such.  miss a sign and you are lost !!

You also need photocopies of the passport data page and Hong Kong entry slip.

  • 2 weeks later...

Very easy process. Did it last week.

Very easy to find as other poster mentions head toward lippo centre.

8th floor of fairmont  house.

That small entry slip I nearly mislaid as I assumed it was the visa slip required. I photocopied wrong slip. I had to go and copy the correct slip. On bottom floor of lippo centre is a place so was back in 10 minutes to complete.
