Ban Phai: Any private cars that can be hired for trips within town?

Featured Replies

In Ban Phai District, there are no taxis and so the samlor drivers tend to be arrogant pains in the arse.  If you happen to call them while they're eating you've done a great sin.  If they feel like having fun they might confirm a pickup and then don't show.  Of course not all are like this, but enough to bring me here.

So if you know anyone in Ban Phai with a private car that can be hired for short trips within town, please PM me.  Same goes for any samlor drivers you know to be reliable.  Thanks.

I live about 3km from the center of town and walk both ways ( not having private transport ) most days,

if I have need a return ride I take it from the bus station.

Not found issues with samlor drivers myself except for once regarding pick-up, in the past 4 years plus.

When you say Banphai district and "short trips within town" may I ask what sort of distance you mean

from the new clock tower ?

If I hear of anyone specific I will PM you,

I have a feeling your Thai language skills are much better than mine.  Anyway the main problem I have is finding someone to pick me up from home to go to the bus station about 3 km away.  The other way around is no problem because there's always a bunch of samlors waiting at the station.  I'd rather walk but sometimes I have large pieces of luggage with me.

Bicycle lock and chain would probably be the cheapest and most reliable option.
