It's also worth pointing out there weren't many people who thought he was a waste of money at the time. He had been playing very well in Serie A, and already had roots at United. It's basically saying - we aren't looking to spend much money - so if we do go in for someone hopefully they will not add the standard 'United tax' on. His comments have nothing to do with the deepness of Real Madrid or PSG's pockets. If they want to buy, and we want to sell, it could get done.
