tgeezer
If you are able to type เงาะงาม into Google you will see that it is a flowering shrub, 'bambutan' could well be correct for the first word 'ngo ngam', easier to say than gno ngam but no more meaningful to me. I would say that they are described as organic and home grown. From natural agriculture. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
KhunBENQ
เงาะงาม (ngo nam) Yes, the "ngo" stands for rambutan (the well known fruit). But ngo nam ("beautiful rambutan") seems a special type.

tgeezer
Apparently เงาะงาม has other names แสงตะวัน and ภู่อมร or พู่อามร of which มองดอกภู่อามรแล้วจะคิดถึงลูกเงาะจึงมีชื่อเรียกว่าเงาะงามอีกชื่อหนึ่ง Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
tgeezer
So to get back on track, could we say that เงาะงาม is no more related to เงาะ than oak apple is to apple? Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
