PATTAYA: -- At around 6:30pm on April 13th, Good Friend massage shop on 3rd Road was lucky enough to be visited by Pattaya police, after reports suggested they were offering some “special” services.

Armed with 3,000 baht, undercover police entered the shop posing as regular customers. The were greeted by the owner, 35 year old, who ushered them in to to choose from one of the nine lovely ladies that were available.

After discussing price and services available, the police felt that they had enough evidence to raid the business.

Back up entered and all 3 floors were checked.

Police found there to be 6 private rooms upstairs, in which customers could relax whilst enjoying their massage and anything else that may or may not have been agreed.

The owner strongly denied that any funny business would take place under her control and insisted that customers got nothing more than your basic massage. Police, however, did not believe the story and were convinced that illegal activity was taking place at the venue.

With the evidence that they had already collected, they felt that they had enough to be able to arrest the owner and set a court date where she will face charges.

Just another shop keeper who was withholding the appropriate tax from the boys in brown. I am sure they will have this sorted after a trip to the bank.

Word of mouth can get you arrested? I didn't read that they actually found any evidence (condoms and such..).

Police refused to believe that no illegal activities took place.

Should have read, because no brown envelopes changed hands it is illegal to operate a massage shop.

Going after the big fish....not.

They found a load of condoms and massage gels. The undercover agent had a happy ending.

So, was it 6 guys pretending to be Thai, or 1 guy pretending to be Japanese?

There's a solution that is almost sure to work, when a Thai customer

comes in, don't offer the specials to him, just like years ago, when

massage parlors in BKK refused service to foreigners saying all foreigners has

AIDS.....

Plain and simple: Tyranny by the Police over their own people for private profits !!!

Nothing more, nothing less.

To enforce the law [or what ever kind of regulation they make up] whenever the Police feels

good for their own pockets is nothing else than Tyranny in the name of enforcing the law.

There is nothing funny about this and everybody who makes jokes about it is nothing but a dumb fool !!!

It's like when they pull you over and refuse to believe you weren't speeding, despite the fact they weren't using radar.

Do they actually believe these raids are good PR?

Maybe my "intelligence" is just better than the Thai police 'cause I know a soi or three that is full of happy massages ?

more than your average massage in thailand would mean something other than a hand job or sex. wonder what they were offering then. as usual the reporting has missed some important details.

Oh god,, Are the RTP that stupid?  Of course everyone knows what goes on in these soapy massage parlors.

Especially in Pattaya. ?

So business is always taken seriously then.
Great reporting, as ever.

Almost every bar/massage parlour/business in Pattaya has to pay the Bandits in Brown 'protection' money.  Those that don't, get raided.  The letter R  in RTP is lese-majeste, plain and simple.

Lets pretend to clean up pattaya episode 3. Absolutely hilarious. Is anyone buying this shit?

Meanwhile in other news, marine biologists have found yet another drop of water in the ocean. Chief marine biologist somchai pattawan said "we saw what looked like a drop of water in the sea, so we picked it up and confirmed indeed that there is water in the ocean."

"Royal" was only introduced about 20 years ago by some ambitious police chief who fancied a better sounding job title, and only exists in the English language version.

In Thai they are know as the National Thai Police, along with a few other names....

Yeah, especially when you can't sue or counter sue, at least not without a lot of repercussions.

Been looking for the place for a while, where actually on 3rd Road,  that for the advertisement?

DUH! So what else is new? The boys in brown weren't getting there tea money!

I am shocked, that this kind of entrapment occurs in Pattaya!

Would you ever rely on the completeness or the accuracy of Thai reporting?

Well that's good enough for me. We don't need any REAL proof. We know that these people who are arrested will go to prison and the justice system, well with all due respect, decides on the length of time! Innocent until proven guilty does not exist here.

Somchai is that you...

Just a guess, but I can't believe how they rat each other out...! Perhaps by someone in the same business around the corner...!
