U.S. Attorney requests information on visitors to anti-Trump website

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C. has subpoenaed records from a group that allegedly helped facilitate Trump inauguration protests.

The office has subpoenaed user records from the company DreamHost, which web-hosts #DisruptJ20, a group that allegedly assisted in planning protests against President Trump's inauguration in January.

The subpoena is related to prosecutions of people arrested for the violence that occurred in Washington, D.C.

After 118 pages, still NO!!

After all those promises of MAGA, zero legislative achievements. Now, simply not (yet) going impeached is win for Trump.

What a winner!

Does the bar get any lower?

Trump shuts down business councils after CEO exodus

"As our members have expressed individually over the past several days, intolerance, racism and violence have absolutely no place in this country and are an affront to core American values,” the forum members said in a statement."

"A member of the group that included Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan, Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, and Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electric said Trump’s Tuesday comments were a “tripwire.”

"3M’s Inge Thulin and Cambell Soup’s Denise Morrison became the seventh and eighth members to defect since Monday."

Soon, this bitter, inept, ignorant fool will be alone with only his diminishing Deplorables.

Trump isolation growing as business panels dismantled

"A growing number of business leaders on the councils had openly criticized his remarks laying blame for the violence at a white supremacists rally on "both sides."

"Leaders of the four major branches of the military — who typically avoid political debate — have all issued statements decrying racism and extremism."

"Members of the Strategy and Policy group, led by Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, concluded after a 45-minute conference call in the morning that they would end the council and announce their decision in a statement, according to two people familiar with the discussions."

Rational people are fleeing the TOXIC White House in droves and the inept one desperately attempts to spin it as his idea.

Woooaaaa! Don't think Russia has gone away. Do you think for one nano second Mueller and his team have taken their eye off the ball. Just because the media HAVE TO report Trumps latest disgraceful effort (which you support) does not mean those tasked with investigating potential crimes of Trump, his family and 'friends' will slow down. If anything the situation is far more satisfying now. Trump will be out before the Russian investigation is over, and when criminal charges are eventually laid down, Trump will not be in a position to pardon himself or his family. And Pence will not pardon them. Do you think all the senior Republicans will allow Pence to pardon? They all want their pound of Trump flesh for the things Trump has said about them. They don't like Trump, they tolerate him to secure their own position and they will throw him under the biggest bus ever when given half a chance.

Bannon scrambling to keep his job:

Steve Bannon brands far right 'losers' and contradicts Trump in surprise interview

"The seemingly candid comments – which included the claims that he would oust his rivals in the federal government, who were “wetting themselves” – come at a time when Bannon faces an uncertain future at the White House."

"Bannon dismissed the far right as “irrelevant”, Kuttner wrote, quoting the Trump aide as saying:  “Ethno-nationalism – it’s losers. It’s a fringe element … These guys are a collection of clowns.”

"It has been reported that the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his wife, Ivanka Trump, have long urged Bannon’s dismissal."

what kind of TV show did Trump have?

not even B grade.  a total amateur.

what we need is a Bernie, a Bush, a Clinton..... or maybe Al Gore.

there you go.  Al Gore. not a neo Nazi..... he's The Climate Guy.
he's also a liar...... and as green as Ted Cruz. a 100 total hypocrite.

because Trump didn't make an immediate and exaggerated ****rant**** on TV and twitter.... like he would with stuff that he thinks might actually be important.... none of the latter of which is neo Nazi stuff...... he is a neo Nazi.

the only difference between the USA and North Korea is that the USA has a "two party system" instead of one... but the little people need to be manipulated 24/7/365.

beautiful.

Condemning a dept store for a perceived slight against his adult daughter is certainly more important than condemning Jew-hating armed  nazis marching, maiming and killing in an American city.

Yep, Trump's a president with the right priorities.

When a presidents says that there are some good people among neo-Nazis and white-supremacists, that's definitely not news.

"There were good people on both sides." He said that about a march sponsored by White Supremacists.

As it has become quite untenable to defend Trump on the facts, the focus has shifted to "humorously" (I use the word charitably) troll the the high-minded righteousness of Trump's critics. TBH we do come off as overly righteous—but that's only because how ridiculously easy (except for Trump) it is to condemn Nazis & Nazi sympathizers. I for one didn't have to do any soul searching, or pray or seek spiritual guidance to conclude that Nazi bigots are kinda sh!tty folk.

I'd like to think Holmes is "humorously" trolling rather than defending Trump.

This is where we are now: Calling someone a troll is the more charitable option.

Imagine that —getting outraged about the president if the United States coming off as a Nazi sympathizer. What a thing to be outraged about. Michael Obama wearing a sleeveless gown was much worse!

And the "truth" he spoke was what? That people who oppose Nazis are as bad as Nazis? That's not truth. That's creating a false moral equivalency.

Tony Schwartz, who ghostwrote Trump's  book years ago, is now saying that Trump will find a way to quit and will do it soon, i.e. before the end of the year or even sooner.  He will quit to avoid prison at the hands of Rober Mueller.

Schwartz knew Trump very well at the time, having spent everyday with him for 18 months in order to write the book, since Trump lacked the attention span even to sit through an interview.

I can see the  republican congress offering him a backroom deal to step down to avoid an impeachment and criminal  charges.  Saves everybody  a lot of face and a messy trial.

But it's not so simple.  Pence could pardon Trump, but that would not protect him from prosecution for breaking state law, for instance in New York where most of his financial crimes were committed and which has an ambitious Democrat Attorney General, Eric Scheiderman.

Then too, pardoning a disgraced president didn't exactly work wonders for Gerry Ford's political future.  So, Pence might have second thoughts.

There'd have to be some provisions  and contingencies from both sides. I think there's enough high powered people at all levels of the government to offer him a deal  if he just goes away .

I wonder how Pence will come out smelling after Mueller's done  with his  investigation.

"This man is doing absolutely everything in his power to back us up and we need to have his back," Andrew Anglin wrote on the DailyStormer, a neo-Nazi, anti-Semitic website that acts as a hub of the extreme right. It's going to be really, really hard to have any bad feelings towards Trump for a long, long time after this," he said. Richard Spencer, the white nationalist organiser of the "Unite the Right" rally, hailed Trump's statement as "fair and down to earth. Trump cares about the truth," said Spencer, who added he was "proud of" the president.

Say what??

Trump campaign emails show aide’s repeated efforts to set up Russia meetings

"Three days after Donald Trump named his campaign foreign policy team in March 2016, the youngest of the new advisers sent an email to seven campaign officials with the subject line: “Meeting with Russian Leadership - Including Putin.”

"The adviser, George Papadopoulos, offered to set up “a meeting between us and the Russian leadership to discuss US-Russia ties  under President Trump,” telling them his Russian contacts welcomed the opportunity.".

"Between March and September, the self-described energy consultant sent at least a half-dozen requests for Trump, he turned from primary candidate to party nominee, or for members of his team to meet with Russian officials."

I think talk of back room deals is long gone. Trump is despised. He has slagged off the FBI, the CIA he has treated many many long term politicians (on his own side!!!) with contempt. Trump is in for a big fall. Do you think McConnell, McCain, Cruz will permit a deal? They will want to see him publicly shamed and suffering. Trump's nemesis is Mueller and there is nothing he can do about it other than kill 10 million people in Seoul in an attempt to stay in power. He has made an enemy of almost every single reporter and media station in the USA with the exception of people like Hannity, Alex Jones and other right wing bat crazy nut jobs.

Trump will not go quietly, he will try to whip up his supporter base for a second civil war, (maybe that's why he wants to keep the statues up, he wants one of him next to them).

The sooner they bring criminal charges to him and his 3 little piggies and jail them for a long time, the better.

From this week's edition of The Economist.

Our cover considers the presidency of Donald Trump. This week he failed the simplest of tests: finding a way to condemn Nazis. His attempt to equate the far-right protest and its counter-demonstration in Charlottesville was politically inept and morally wrong. His inability to see beyond himself suggests that he does not have the character to change .
