We don't know what evidence (if any) Mueller's or the other investigating teams have. And we won't know for a while. It took investigators 5 years to prove Clinton lied about a BJ. And the investigation wasn't even about BJ's!

 

The current allegations are far more serious, bordering on treason.

 

From the publicly available information, there's good reason to be suspicious. Meetings by Trump team members were held with Russian operatives. Not disclosed as required, then denied, then admitted to but lied about as to their nature, then admitted to as more reporting emerged. Not just with one member of the Trump team, but all of the following, all of them high-ranking:

 

Roger Stone,

Paul Manafort

Jared Kushner

Don Jr

Mike Flynn

Jeff Sessions

Eric Prince (not officially in the team, but closely associated and whose sister is Sec of Edu)

 

That's a lotta smoke, and it stands to reason that there's a hunt for a possible fire.

 

It's a fire hunt, not a witch hunt. And from Trump's rather frantic reactions, it appears the investigators are getting warm.

The journals are stunned into silence for a moment. Its all difficult to believe what you see and hear from this White House. There is no could have or would have scenario here. The Trump Administration have just admitted that Trump wrote part of Donald Jrs statement. It was done on Air Force 1. Trump denied knowing anything about the story until it broke with his son issuing the emails. Trumps lawyers said the President had nothing to do with the statement from Donald Jnr. Why on earth would you support a liar? I am right of centre, definitely not a liberal but I cannot support a pathological liar. Country before party!

Here's the difference. Obama owned up to those statements, apologized and worked to try and minimize those problems during the ACA rollout. When has Trump ever owned up, let alone apologized for his countless daily lies?

 

"All sides do it" is a BS argument that aims to sneakily shift the discussion from the specific lies of a specific topic of discussion to a meaningless generalization. The fact is, "all sides" DON'T do it.

 

When you say, "they all lie" - what are we to make of that? That we should not chastise anyone or call them out for particular lies in particular instances because "all politicians lie" so we should just disengage? Be completely cynical? Not care?

 

Each instance of lying needs to be called out on its own demerits, exposed and chastised and the liar held to account, not be allowed to slide on the baseless presumption that "they all do it"

 

It must also be noted that not all lies are equal. There are white lies, lies of omission, lies to avoid embarrassment, lies to deceive, scurrilous lies, misdirection, nefarious lies, and outright bullish!t. There's a difference between outright lies, like Trump does, and promises that later are impossible to implement due to a fractured congress.  To say all politicians lie is BS.  Not all lie.  They make promises that can't be kept due to politics.

how about something simple and intuitive instead debating the residency period of Co2 in the upper atmosphere?

or whether it takes 30 or 40 years for emitted Co2 to have it's full climate effect.. given how big the oceans are....

..... what about simply that up against the 250 or so energy serfs the average westerner has as modern day slaves (read: negative externalities... way too cheaply priced energy sources.... plus blood.... on our US hands... real human blood)..... yet aviation is somehow 10% of that total deal....

After I read the travesty of an interview that Trump did with the WSJ, I am beginning to think that the original poll needed a third option -- accidental self-immolation via nuclear codes. I don't take any joy that he sounds like he has dementia. He certainly can't hold a thought longer than a butterfly takes to flap its wings. It's a cruel trick that the electorate has somehow voted for someone so cruel, so narcissistic and so feeble minded.
