BANGKOK, 20th May 2017 (NNT) – The army chief, Gen Chalermchai Sitthisart, is strongly convinced that the National Council for Peace and Order’s effort to foster national reconciliation will succeed.

Gen Chalermchai, as chairman of the reconciliation subcommittee, said the drafting of a reconciliation covenant is progressing as the subcommittee has recently received a document containing suggestions and opinions collected from the public and other sectors of society.

He believes that the covenant will yield maximum benefits to the nation and the people, adding that the drafting team has been blessed with great cooperation from all sides.

Due to the smooth undertaking, Gen Chalermchai is confident that the unity and reconciliation process will be successful while pleading with the public for more time as his team has to go through a lot more information it has in hand.

As there will be no money to be made from peace o there is no chance of peace. With peace the army will need less men less tanks etc. But alas with peace will come civilian control of the border which could hamper drug trade, oil smuggling and human trafficing.

Keep the reconciliation process going (along with the "empty" promises ) and you can keep control, despite what you have told the rest of the world! So much false promises and hope :post-4641-1156693976:

Indeed, the leopard does not change it's spots and all the rhetoric in the world does not change that!

As long as nobody knows what "reconciliation" exactly means and how it can be measured he can make every statement he wants.

"Reconciliation" means the same as the "Roadmap", "Thailand 4.0" and all the other terms the junta likes to bleat about: nothing.

Thanks to the General and his completely impartisan rule of 3 years, Thailand and all classes of thais can now forget all the pain of the past and look forward to happiness, joy and inclusive growth. All is well.
