got a o visa now what's the best option

Featured Replies

Got a o visa based on marriage at savannakhet but was wondering the best option next a marriage visa or a  o visa extension i am receiving a pension funds from Australia and and more from another investment im over 60 thanks for any help or information

Visas are not extended.

You can apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage or retirement at immigration during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from the visa.

For marriage you would need 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.

For retirement you would need 800k baht in the bank for 60 days or proof of 65k baht income or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht.

As Ubonjoe says BUT remember marriage extension has some hoops in the way of documents, photos etc. Check with you local immigration what they want, and do not leave it until the last minute - My photos were rejected once and took 48 hours to get more.

Only you can really answer that question. Some like me like the non O route suits me. Some like the Extension route.

Diffrences non o 90 days leave and get a new stamp or extend for 60 days based on visiting wife then leave. 17 mths out of one visa.

Extension report to immigration every 90 days. 400k marriage 800k retirement in bank for 3 months i belive possibly two for first one.

If your on extension reentry permits are avaliable at 1k single 3800 multiple.

Sit and figure out your prefered option.
