Docs required when legalizing marriage at dept of consular affairs

Recommended Posts

Im using an agent to visit the dept of consular affairs bc Im too lazy to go there myself. I provided the stat dec stamped by my embassy and a copy of my passport. Of course I also provided the official translation of the stat dec.

Ive been waiting for the Ems number and it seems something is wrong. He finally picked up the phone and he is saying that they asked for my wifes thai id card. Is this correct? I didnt think that it was necessary. I already gave him a copy of my wifes passport.

Im worried that this guy is up to something to be honest. Ive asked to see the official receipt from the dept of consular affairs but he is making excuses. I suspect that he hasnt got it bc of this problem

thanks

Not sure what you trying to get done at the consular affairs department.

Are you trying to get the translation of the affirmation of permit to marry needed to register your marriage certified?

I cannot see any reason they should need your wife's ID to get that done.
