My Korean wife (PhD holder) has been offered a professor's position with a Thai university.  I'm an American male and we're now living in Korea.  If she wants to accept the position, will I be granted an "O"(??) visa without problems, or will they be hesitant to give a dependent visa to me as a male?  I may (or may not) look into getting a job in Thailand once we're settled, but that's for later and I know I should get my own proper paperwork.  After 10 years of me working FT and supporting her with her PT work while studying, it will be nice to relax a bit and let the wife 'wear the pants' in the relationship!  :)

Thx in advance for any infos.

You can get a non-o visa at an embassy or consulate and then an extension of stay as your wife's dependent without a problem after she gets an extension of stay.

Thanks Joe.  That's what I assumed.  Just wanted to make sure that they won't look at me funny or give me a hard time when a male is dependent on a foreign female's work status.
