Chaos ahead as Bali Hai Pier prepares for partial closure July 10

PATTAYA:--Large sections of Bali Hai Pier will be closed for construction July 10, with speedboat operators and even scuba diving boats relocated to the beach.

 

Maj. Gen. Popanan Lueng­panuwat, head of the National Council for Peace and Order in Banglamung District, told a June 7 meeting that 26 companies will be affected by the development of the pier, which is aimed at upgrading it for the military’s planned International Fleet Show this fall.

 

The first areas to be closed will be the parking lot, drop-off area and main pavilion. Officials plan to announce alternative locations for parking and passenger pickups before construction begins.

 

Popanan acknowledged the work will have an adverse impact on traffic and private companies, who will be directed to operate off Pattaya Beach opposite the A-One Royal Cruise and Hard Rock hotels, and Royal Garden Plaza.

 

He said the relocations will be temporary and full access to the pier will be restored once the first phase of renovation is complete. He did not disclose a date when it will be done.

 

The Marine Department was directed to propose alternative sites for ferry trips and others.

Any images how the park going to look like?

It would have been nice if they could concentrate on one job and finish it before moving onto the next

now we have:simultaneously-

1. hoarding obstructing the view of the sea at the northern end of Pattaya Beach Road near the Dusit hotel(with no end in sight)

2. hoarding obstructing the view of the sea around this development site at Bali Hai

3. very disruptive road and earthworks at Dongtan Beach in Jomtien

4. an unfinished Road Tunnel (but beautifully tiled with dolphins)

 

why do I feel Pattaya is one great construction zone

I am always surprised that a country depending on tourism so much still don't know when high season starts and ends.

 

Relocation of what ? It was supposed to be cleared already ?

Why not just ban all the damm speedboats from Pattaya beach, including anchoring, run the blody speedboat and jet ski mafia out of town.....

and beach rd/freeway is back to its morning chaos,as those filthy disgusting tour buses are back triple parked ,blowing their horns,to be noticed ..yes the thai male bus driver,loud and proud and in a crowd ,back to off and on load tour groups for the ''highlight of their vacation'', the famous 45 second, parasail ...here in pattaya,we love the tourists,we just hate the buses and their retarded drivers....FIN

Yes but except if you bought a property long time again before the Chinese invasion, you have no reason to be on beach road in the morning...

5, The sorry mess of construction trailer trash at South end of beach. Entrance  to cities main tourist attraction : Unbelievable.
