Murdered youths may have stumbled on secret insurgency meeting: authorities

PATTANI: -- An insurgent cell led by Sobri Jehheh is believed to be behind the shooting deaths of three youths who went to collect forest produce on Saturday and possibly stumbled on a clandestine, nefarious activity in Pattani's Yaring district, authorities said.

 

Following the discovery of the three bodies in the forest, security officers apprehended six suspects for questioning and found an M16 rifle, an AK-47 rifle and three pistols along with ammunition, said Colonel Yutthanam Phetchmoung, deputy spokesman for the Internal Security Operations Command’s (Isoc) 4th Region Front Command. 

 

Isoc will determine whether the weapons are linked to any attack, he said, adding that they were located in a village in tambon Tanyong Jung-nga and a village in tambon Tanyong Dalor.

 

Army Region 4 chief Lt-General Piyawat Nakwanich offered condolence to the slain youths' families and instructed officials to provide them with aid as per state regulations.

 

He told authorities to gather evidences and perform intelligence newsgathering to bring the killers to justice.

 

Yutthanam condemned the attack as inhumane.

 

He urged the public to provide information on the case via the hotline 1341 around the clock.

Which could also include drug running, human trafficking, gang operations, etc.

I guess they all know who it is and his name. Now it´s only to wait for finding and arresting him. Guess that will take a while.
