Beach vendors remove equipment

PATTAYA:--Pattaya Beach looked more pristine than it has in memory after umbrella vendors removed all their equipment from the sand for two days.

 

Deckchair operators hauled all their gear off the beach June 20 for the first time before the first consecutive Wednesday and Thursday when the beach was returned to its natural state.

 

Previously, vendors were allowed to stack all their chairs and property under the trees before “no chairs Wednesday”.

 

City spokesman Pinit Manee­rat said the equipment removal would only be required during June and July when contractors will relevel the sand.

The authorities should allow 5 or 6 new snack bar type catering trailers along the beach for refreshment convenience along with waste bins all long the beach cleaned daily.

 

Maybe a few deck chair vendors but only new chairs and umbrellas in nice bright colours.

 

The Mediterranean resorts get it right why can't these lot?

Good.  Keep these sand fleas and their kit away from the beach.

 

They should rent a store front and rent chairs out of it.  Have a beach boy lug it to and from the beach for customers when finished.

 

The beach has always looked like a squatters camp or a chair disposal center.

Forget about releveling the sand , clean the water. If you go to the beer garden and look back at the  water filter plant about 30 metres before the beginning of walking street you will see two large outlet pipes about 4 ft in diameter , watch what comes out when it raining, you will never swim at that beach again  Pattaya has bad drainage issues so the water has no wear to go but the beach. .

get rid of the jet ski scum

 

open up proper little beach hut bars& restaraunts along the beach with proper waste bins .

Do you remember when there were no umbrellas on the beach? Just grass roofed salas to remind you that you were in Thailand. Now the beach is the same as any around europe.

If you want Mediterranean style beach resorts you can go to the Med. 

Why go to Thailand and expect to find it there ?

I can categorically say beach deckchairs and umbrellas have NOT been removed tuesday nights and returned friday mornings at bottom soi 2/3/4/5 on beach rd. Stacked as per normal this week

 Sure looks beautiful and something a tourist would expect of a tropical location.

 

But are we missing the point here? Think of how much more employment and income is derived from the current set up? Dodgy jet-ski operators (and their hanger ons) paying brown bag fees to "officials" and extra income (legal or otherwise) coming in for the local administration, deck chair vendors paying 'fees' (legal or otherwise) also and the list goes on.    Cynical comment.
