July 11, 20178 yr I have a boat for sale and I received the following email Hello, I agree with the price So i will be paying directly into your Bank Account without any delay. Get back to me with the details below : Account Holders Name: Bank Name : Bank Account number: Email Address: Swift code: Total Cost of the item: Once i receive the details i will forward it to my Bank Manager, and he will do the payment for you...also you will be notify by my Bank through your email address after the payment has been done okay? After that i will contact my shipping company after you get the payment. I will need your home address for the item to be Picked Up by the Shipping Company… This rang several alarm bells, in a previous email he referred to my boat as Merchandise and picking up a 14 ton 43 foot boat by a shipping company is just plane funny, like most boats mine is in a marina.I replied back asking for payment by PayPal. he said he didn’t have a PayPal account. My question is what can be done with the above details ?
July 11, 20178 yr I assume this person hasn't even felt the need to come and see the "merchandise" in person or ask questions before agreeing on your asking price for immediate payment? Of course it's a scam. What to do about it? Ignore it and wait for legitimate interest.
July 11, 20178 yr Author Hi Katia yes its a scam, no one spends a lot of money sight un-seen. What is integrating me, is this is normal Bank details, so what can they do with it...what am I missing
July 11, 20178 yr tell him you have a higher offer of (insert ludicrous amount in millions) but that you want him to have it and then add a few "God Bless you's" and ask him how the weather in Abuja is

Forrest. Run!
July 12, 20178 yr Definitely a scam. But you can play along....just don't give out your bank info. The dude will become increasingly frustrated, which is what makes it more entertaining.

I did that on the old "I'm in trouble in Manila while on holiday and need you to send me lots of money" scam. Very satisfying to see the responses.
