NLA urges public to strengthen democracy

BANGKOK, 31 July 2017 (NNT) – The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has called on the Thai public to strengthen democracy in the country, saying every individual is obligated to support the enhancement of public administration.

NLA first vice president Surachai Liengboonlertchai said today that every member of the public regardless of their political stance, must take part in the reform process and the improvement of the country’s democracy because everyone's contribution and effort, will lead to positive changes.

As democracy empowers the people, it is the people who decide the country’s future, Surachai said, adding that conflicting sides must find common ground and together fix all the problems that have hindered national development for the past decade.

As for the reform of public administration, Surachai asked that government officials be open to public input because such acceptance means active cooperation from all parties in achieving reform.

Members of the legislature have been traveling to every part of the country to raise public awareness of the importance of their participation as well as to better inform them of the strengths of democracy and the planned general election.

"every individual is obligated to support the enhancement of public administration"

What enhancement?

I think what he is meaning is that individuals have to enhance the personal finances of those public administrators who extort money for simply doing their job.

This man shows plenty of audacity! What democracy? There is no democracy just military rule by one man; Big Cheese PM Prayut.

This word "democracy" constantly gets used and abused by this self appointed government.

I don't see Thailand ever becoming a "democracy" I think the best it can ever hope for is an "ineptocracy" which is defined as follows.

Ineptocracy

A system of government where the least capable to lead, are elected by the least capable of producing and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

How is this possible ? Any meeeting consisting of more than five people is banned by this government.

Unless it is taken away.  Just more delusional banter as usual.  Sadly they are so foppish they do not even know when they are making a cheeky or embarrassing statement.

Uh huh, let's turn this around, shall we: what are the obligations of public administration in regards to the Thai people?

enjoy a junket at the taxpayers expense; to feather their own nests; to raise their profile in case democracy is ever allowed to return to Thailand.

It used to be that every Thai was obligated to support and protect the Constitution.

Now it's Public Administration, a government by unelected bureaucracy and not by democracy.
