A video clip showing a 20-year-old bull elephant weeps with gratitude in front of the wooden coffin containing the body of Mr Somjai Chuenprasaeng , 65, captured the hearts of all viewers when it was posted on the social media on Monday.

The clip showed the elephant “Plai Panom” used it’s trunk to knock on the coffin as if to tell it’s keeper that he is right here now.

The keeper’s son Pramote Chuenprasaeng, 43, recalled how the heartfelt moment on the video clip happened at his home in Tambon Plutuen in Phanom district of Surat Thani  on Monday.

Bullhocky.  The elephant was only doing what the majout told him to do.

How does an experienced media organisation allow itself to get sucked in by what is obvious BS?

And then try to foist such grossly insincere rubbish on its readership?

The fact that a mahout controls the elephant ought to be enough to resist such mawkish sentimental pap and set some decent standards of public integrity..

Trust is the only product of value any professional media has to offer in the market.

This is a camel beside his owner's grave a week after his death.

It's all about clicks ..nothing else matters.

The jumbo knows that if he doesn't obey he'll get a spiked hook in the top of its head...... all mahouts carry one .

Then jumbo went and rejoined his game of soccer, or painted landscapes, blew darts out of his nose, or whatever it is that elephants do at their "sanctuary".
