BANGKOK, 4 August 2017 (NNT) - The Ministry of Public Health said the Thai medical industry in the so-called 4.0 era should expand access to treatment for every citizen and reduce waiting times.

During his speech on public health policy and 4.0 medicine at Navamindradhiraj University, Permanent Secretary for Public Health Dr. Sophon Mekthon said the Thai medical industry in the 4.0 era must achieve stability, prosperity, and sustainability.

He added that public health centers must be able to care for people of all medical needs. Comprehensive medical services should be included in small hospitals to treat patients with mild conditions more effectively, as a way of relieving the burden on larger hospitals.

Dr. Sophon stressed the need to use advanced medical technologies to reduce patient recovery times. He also called for an even distribution of medical professionals throughout the country. This would allow Thais nationwide to have access to medical services in their areas, instead of being forced to travel long distances for treatment.

how about a series of small hospitals that only treat motorbike accidents, yaba, alcohol and smart phone addiction and diabetes . they should be next to every 7/11.

that should speed things up at the big hosptials.

Medical services here are good if you have money or full insurance coverage. Else a simple visit to good hospitals will cost at least 1k for a simple check.

Considering TL is the top dog in traffic fatalities and way up there with yaba, alcohol, diabetes and soon to be FB withdrawals, there could be some profit in theses.  7-11/mini-hospital/pharmacy/ATM.  One stop shop.

The rural hospitals are losing their doctors and some nurses to the private hospitals in the city...chasing the money.

My local clinic processed 140 clients in 4 hours.  What most of these shills are saying is, "Dismantle the 30 baht scheme, privatize, charge the poorest citizens copays and deductibles they can't afford, and subsidize healthcare for the rich."  This dude obviously hasn't seen how an efficient Amphur hospital can run.  Better than most hospitals that I've seen in the US, and better than the last pathetic appointment I had at BKK hospital.  I won't be going back to that particular private hospital.
