January 3, 200719 yr Hi My plan is to apply for a work permit when i arrive in BKK, and i called the thaiembassy in Sweden and they told me i should apply for a tourist Visa, then in BKK i should apply or a work permit. However, here on this forum, i read somewhere the Non-immigrant Visa is the best when applying for a WP. What is correct, and what is not? someone knows? /aehn
January 4, 200719 yr I am by no means an expert on this subject, but I obtained a Non-Imm B Visa before leaving the UK, and that application had to be supported with a letter from my company. The company needs to apply for a work permit on your behalf; you cannot just arrive with the intention of working and apply for a work permit without having a job offer first.
January 4, 200719 yr Unless you have the supporting paperwork that the Embassy would require to issue you a non immigrant B visa you have no choice and the tourist is the best you can do. When you get the paperwork/job offer action can be taken to obtain a visa that will allow work.

My main concern is if i applied for the wrong visa, cause i applied for the tourist visa, and here on this forum someone said i should have a non-immigrant visa if i wanted to get a work permit
