Hey,

I am currently in Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa.

I have recently got my new passport from Trendy and I am planning to do a 30 day extension of stay at Chiang Mai immigration next week.  Does anyone know the procedure for doing this while also transferring my visa/stamp to my new passport?

Do I have to do the transfer first and then the extension or vise versa or even at the same time?

Any unexpected requirements?  I have letter from Trendy requesting transfer, copies of both passports and photos.

Thanks.

Your visa will not be transferred. They will do a stamp with info about it and your old passport. They will transfer you entry stamp and do the extension in your new passport.

Not sure how Chiang Mai immigration will do it. Some will do everything at the same time.

You will certainly need a TM30 form unless you have before and have the receipt for it in your passport.

Just came back from immigration so thought I'd give an update on how it went.

For entry stamp transfer you need to go to office number 3.  There is a desk outside where they give you the form to fill and check everything.  They wanted a copy of EVERY page of my old passport.  They did not ask for TM30 form.  I had to wait about 1 hour.

After this I went for my extension which was processed as normal with my new passport.
