Phuket van driver returns large sum of lost cash to tourist

PHUKET: A Phuket van driver has returned a bag containing 3,300 euro in cash (B130,000) to a Bangladeshi man who left it in a van at Phuket International Airport yesterday (Aug 11).

 

Lt Dusit Wannaboworn of Phuket Tourist Police received report from a van driver at Phuket International Airport name Mr Pornpong Klaythongkam, 39, from Nakhon Si Thammarat that he had found black bag in the rear of his vehicle.

 

Tourist Police at Phuket International Airport met with Mr Pronpong and discovered 3,300 euros in cash, a passport and other items.

At least he rewarded the driver with 200 euros (B 7,500). A decent reward, not quite the 10% expected in most western countries.

What?  an honest taxi driver in Phuket ?  There's always a first I guess.

Better than just a candy, for sure. 

Who leaves a bag in a taxi, let alone a bag with all your money in? What a bellend. Now he can pay to lose his virginity in bangla road.

And he was carrying such a large of cash on him... BECAUSE???

 

Maybe the driver was afraid the black bag contained a bomb or anthrax so he took it to police to open instead.  Or perhaps he was looking for a publicized deed of merit.    And 10% is an insult in the US.  Try 20%.

Because of all the hassling going on with the Thai Immigration chaps asking to see cash!!!..

 

Hope this remarkable van driver gets to keep the full amount and is not racketed after the press leaves, by the greasy looking eyeglassed cooper who is passionately eyeing the 100 € bill!!!
