BANGKOK: -- Lumphini police have issued warrant for the poster of a video clip of a hotel building in Ploenchit area  to report and acknowledge criminal charge for causing panic after it said the building is leaning and is near collapse.

The police took action on a Facebook user, Dr Kanoksak Chongchaipak or widely known as “Mor Earth” , a well-known skin doctor, after the company’s representative which owns the 33-storey building, known as Rosewood Bangkok, lodged complaint with the police over the false information spread on the social media.

On Aug 15 at about 12.45pm Dr Kanoksak posted on his Facebook that the building is leaning and subsiding. He also wrote that construction work had been stopped as the building was about to collapse.

Very prompt action by the BIB, imagine how fast they would be if a real crime was committed.

They did ask around 6 months ago, please don't laugh at us on social media because it tarnishes our reputation.

'His post was false and had created social disorder and panic, the police said.' Where do they manage to come up with these charges? Social disorder and panic? Hardly, I think. And from the look of the picture, the RTP might want to take a closer look before it dismisses the post as false.

Chasing crimes commited over social media is going to become the staple task, i think.. never mind what actually happens in the real world, like, "person A stabs person B with a knife",  be more interested in persecuting people for what they say is much easier because it's written evidence.
