currently a US citizen in the US, meet the age/$/health/criminal chk requirements for thai non-im o-a visa.  Thai consular websites in US state they do not process O-A visas, only embassy in Washington DC does. OK,

Thai embassy website states the usual 800k baht in thai bank acct requirement (fine) for obtaining O-A, but I"m not in Tland to open said account. Only alternate visas available I see are for 30/60 days as a tourist.

I thought the money in thai bank acct needed to be "seasoned" for 2-3 months in order to obtain O-A.

Don't see any option for a 90 day (or more) visa (tourist or non-im) that can be obtained while residing in the USA (which would allow me time to go there, open bank acct, and let money sit for req time).

If I got a 30 or 60 day tourist visa in the USA, got to tland and opened bank acct, is there an exception for the time the money needs to sit in account when initially applying for non-im O-A visa? or am I missing something?

O-A visas in the U.S.using 800K baht means you show the funds in a U.S. account.

Later, when you start to apply for annual retirement extensions in Thailand, then the funds need to be in Thailand.

can also apply at Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City consulates. Money does not have to be in Thai bank but can be in bank in USA. No seasoning required

You must of been looking at a honorary consulate website. The 3 official consulates in NY, Chicago and Los Angles can issue the OA visa.

The fund can be in a US bank. The requirements state equal to 800k baht and does not say in a Thai bank.

From embassy website. http://thaiembdc.org/consular-services/non-immigrant-visas/non-immigrant-category-o/
