I would like to apply for a 60 day thai child extension and the re--entry permit at the same time at Chaweng Wattana, should I start first to apply the 60 days extension then when it done I get a new queue ticket and apply for the re-entry permit, or it can be done at the same time with the same officer who process the extension ?

You need to get your extension first, then your re-entry permit second. Different officers, different sections/desks. You will need 2 different queue numbers, 2 different application forms and 2 different sets of photocopies.

(You will need a photocopy of your new extension to give to the re-entry permit desk).

Allow a whole morning, but sometimes you can get done quickly. Remember that the line at 8.30 am can be 500 meters long.

Blackcab is totally correct. 2 different departments. And you need the new extension first.

I have found increasingly that getting a re-entry at the airport is more friendly and 10 times faster. However, DM I use a lot, and my comment applies to the re-entry office there. SoWannaPoo=I don't know so well: I remember when it was a kitchen table in the corner (although for 200b more, I hear they will do your photo and all your copies).

For the extn, make sure you have everything copied and signed (that you should have), including your old extension. Pattaya expat club provide a list on-line, although I was told by somebody to copy every extension for the past 12 years. The officer was not interested in those, fortunately. If you forget one thing, you will be sent downstairs to the copy shop. the problem then can be getting back in line order because the officer has moved on to other people. You can be lucky and get a cheerful officer, or a miserable one.

Here's my strategy:  I do an online application for the re-entry permit in advance, booking a time slot quite late in the day.  Then after getting the extension done and making the photocopy of the extension stamp, I go to the internet-booked re-entry permit desk and they never seem to mind if I'm way ahead of my booked time.  They guarantee five-minute turn-around time, and my experience is that it is never more than 10- minutes.

Good luck!

Is that still available following the butchering redesign of the Immigration website.  I don't think there's even an Immigration Region 1 section to it any more.

There is still a website for Bangkok immigration. http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/base.php

Re-entry permit online application at Chaeng Wattana immigration is here. https://extranet.immigration.go.th/qrepsonline/online/queue/REPSAction.do?cmd=term
