"friends" Function

November Rain

Recommended Posts

OK, this is where I prove what a "Thicky von Thick-Thick" I really am. A couple of members have recently added me to their friends list, which is really nice, but I'm at a loss as to how this works.

What are the benefits to having friends in your list? Do you see when they're on TV or can you access their posts more easily or something?

How do you add friends? When I click onto "my friends", all I get is a notice telling me I have no friends (Billy No Mates), but not how to add them.

Can anyone help me, or put a link if this has been explained before (I did look, but couldn't see it anywhere)

Thanks a lot

It allows you to easily access their posts and to send PMs or e-mail without having to do a member search. To add a member to your Friends list, just click on a members name and select Add As friend .

Fantastic November Rain!

Just the question I have been wanting to ask and have been too embarrassed to ask.

Thank you

Moss

Glad I'm not the only one! Took me 4 days to work up the courage to ask, as I was convinced everyone would think I was a complete moron! :o

Don't worry about it. I hadn't the faintest idea what all these "friends" were about either - but everyone already knows I'm a moron.

Still don't understand what it's all about - that's how thick I am :o

I believe 'friends' function is the same as 'buddies list' with the old software aka contact list. If you haven't tried it yet, click on the "My Friends" choice at the top (next to My Assistant). Select the Mutual Friends tab then in the pop down menu, "Show who has added me". You will see a list of members who have added you to their Friends list.

Totally agree Mobi,

We should all know better than worry what the ejit's think and start throwing rocks at, what would appear to be a moronic question.

All questions are easy if you know the answer.

Good Luck

Moss

Tywais , you have illuminated me and left me with questions.

I followed your instructions as above and lo and behold a

(short) list appeared.

Now one adage I will always remember is "keep your

friends close but your enemies closer"

On this basis I never put any effort into acquiring friends

because they would be so far back in line I would really

just be wasting their time and that I would not do to

somebody I liked.

Now I find these people (some of whom I don't even know)

have declared themselves my friend.

What should I do ? What can I do.

I do not approve of the infamous 68 (you do me and

I'll owe you one).

What to do? What to do?

:o

Farangsay,

Go to your profile > settings. You will then be given various options, one of which is "Moderation - New friends". Select "Enabled-only add when I approve them", and that way, you can pick and choose who your mates are.

Scouse.

Thank you Scouser but this was not the direction

of my query.

I have resolved my ways , I no longer reject offers

of friendship.

I shall go further than simply reciprocating to

those who have declared themselves my friend.

I shall declare myself as friend to any member

whose ID I can spell.

I am going to have so many friends !

Thank you for that !

I will never EVER EVER say a bad thing about

people from Liverpool again.

Mind you I never did before , so that's not

too hard.

Knew a couple in France. He was from Liverpool

and she was a pharmacist and spoke very good

English with a Liverpool accent.

Most endearing.

Cheers

But I still don't get it. Do I get free donuts, wine or backup on hotly disputed forum topics if I have TV friends? Members tell me what they think on the posts. Is this forum supporting nepotism?

Just to save my axis, I added a few friends to my list today. Can I add everybody to my list that's a member? (Control copy, add all?) Like a UN leader guy?

Somehow, I think I should rename myself Koko and start an opera career singing this revamped Gilbert & Sullivan libretto:

As some day it may happen that a TV member must be found,

I've got a little list — I've got a little list

Of TV friendlies who might well be underground,

who I'd never really miss — and who can catch me on the p***

Good morning, TV Forum members. It's a beautiful day! (I got a paycheck.) :o
