Patong Deputy Mayor Boonma Aeapsap, responsible for flood-prevention in the town, ordered officials to fill sandbags with sand from Kalim Beach and have them strategically placed to encourage better water flow from the road surface into the drains in front of the hospital.

Just 2 days ago the thai met said no flooding in phuket.

Then it started raining and only just now stoped and guess what its flooded in most places in phuket.

Why even bother making a statement that it will rain but not flood. I guess its just the nature of these guys to put the cart before the horse.

To be more precis they said "No floods likely".

So they din't exactly promise no flooding's did they?

There is always flooding in front of the hospital and police station.

No real news here. Even brief heavy rains cause flooding. That said

it drains quickly after the rain stops.
