  1. You're quite sensitive today, aren't you? Go and have a little lie down.... but not in a short-time hotel, of course!
  2. Facts come from proof. Opinions, generalisations, general beliefs etc come from experience of commonly-believed ideas within a society. If Patpong wants to use 'basic facts' he should have something to back it up. Anyway, I was quoting Patpong, not quoting you. I'm not saying that I disagree with him and some of his views, but 'basic facts' need 'factual' support. You're welcome!
  3. If these are 'basic facts' as you state, then do you have scientific proof or research? If not, do you have personal experience? If not, do you have lots of friends with this experience?
  4. Well, as much as I would like to see and meet all these lovely lasses, I can't see the point of spending all that money to sit next to someone with a hard on! Better looking at them at home.
  5. I have, although I'm popping back out on Sunday. But of a waste, really.
  6. While the son is clearly in the right, the lynch mob mentality of the others is a worry. What if the accuser had been high or vindictive or just plain wrong and told all the neighbours xx had tried raping his mum... and xx is lynched to death when innocent? I am not saying this is the case here, I'm just pointing out how easily, quickly and happily Thais will join such an incident, especially if they're guaranteed to be on the 'winning side' and can claim to feel justified.
  7. It says 'per policy' so it could possibly be even less than 500k if other claims have happened. I'm not sure though.
  8. In 1998/1999 I was on Koh Pha Ngan and this Aussie kid who had actually shared our songtaew from the pier to Haad Rin went missing. Posters up everywhere. Then the dad and some other relatives turned up in Thailand to join the search and were in the same restaurant as us. It turns out that the dad was a lawyer back home who had prosecuted some Thai drug kingpin, and the poor son paid the penalty. The first couple of times I heard the rumour that his headless corpse washed up in Surat I dismissed it as bs. But it was apparently true. We no have internet like this back then!
  9. Well, if he really did own the house, at least he warned them of what he planned to do.
  10. There is no punishment worthy of this scum's actions. But it would be good to try some out.... just to check.
  11. I feel that many would agree with me that you're a tourist there, and your apparent disdain for tourists there means you're a bit of a hypocrite... possibly worse.
  12. I would argue that the lack of police on UK streets has more to do with cutbacks than them being busy in cozy (cosy sic.) offices
  13. I'm guessing if you visited a place twice in 24 years, that also makes you a tourist. Hard to agree with your comment then, really.
  14. I know I know, in Thailand you can become a 'professor' without any skill or knowledge in your field, but surely in the civilized world to become a professor requires attaining that credential BY DOING RESEARCH. Clearly this fella did not!
  15. Where in the article or elsewhere in this thread are Poms (Brits) mentioned? In which case, why even mention this?
  16. Wow, I bet you're fun at parties!
  17. 95% sure that was where some recently-bar-fined lady took me! I mean took a bloke I know who told me about it. 🤭
  18. There are short-time rooms inside (apparently🫣🤭) 500B were all sold out and only had 600B when I (I mean a guy I know) recently went.
  19. If the report wants to be unnecessarily specific by writing things like "Yutthapong Damsrisuk, head of the Had Nopparat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park" couldn't they be specific and write the species' actual scientific classification?.... and then we would know that the posters above 👆 are correct and this isn't news.
  20. Box & Bluebottle both start with the letter B🤔🤭🫣 And the former grabs headlines while the latter is common and almost never fatal... although I didn't feel that way when one got me.
  21. How is the current PM's covid infection 'related news'?
  22. Read the book 'Private Dancer'... until the end
  23. I got scammed 2 weeks ago, by someone impersonating Wise. £6,000 spent on my behalf, but within 48 hours wise had sent it back. My theory is that there are naughty people in the postal service scanning cards, as this happed as my card was in transit. I recently got Grab on my Thai phone and attached to my Thai bank, and to set it up I somehow followed some instructions from Grab to connect my card to my phone. Now I have a feature on my phone that activates whenever a card is near it. Even holding my phone and wallet in the same hand makes it happen. I'm currently in the UK and no one here had ever seen this before. Anyway, I reckon these scammers are in the postal service and scanning cards in the mail.
  24. Can none of you guys see that this is just an attention-grabbing troll post of a story that never happened?
  25. You have a valid point, and it's likely this fella had a rough upbringing. However, it needs to be stopped, or the cycle continues. Therefore, abusers need to be removed from society. Some would say in a barbaric way, and others less so.
