I did not see where the hotel owner was requesting he be deported, rather it was a decision of immigration police.
If he is destitute then perhaps best to send him home... he is guilty of criminal trespass surely.
Standard in the old 'Sea Side' on Soi 7....
There was a dog used to sleep at the back of the 7-11 near me, in there getting out of the heat sat next to the coolers. I often wondered why it was never away with some boiled ham. The Thais made the joke it was the owner keeping an eye on things.
I have... they can be a bit pushy in a large group. In my case they were blocking the way with their bikes and chairs. More lately I deal with the smaller groups of 3 or 4 and find them more easy going. They will still be working from there in a week or two.
Immigration may well have helped the USA and Oz in their early days, but modern day immigration does not seem to be of any benefit to Europe, UK and maybe modern day USA. Many countries are struggling under the weight of it. Perhaps Thailand has more sense.
I have no idea what you suggest......
I believe LBs spend a good amount in these places, having shaves and various treatments 'keeping up appearances'... a few regular LB customers would soon fill the money drawer up.
Been catching a few YT videos about EVs and the downsides of them. Bumping the undercarriage, ie the batteries, is an expensive concern. Tesla's Cybertruck cannot be sold in Europe as it fails safety regulations....(admittedly more about hitting pedestrians with it's sharp angles).
And to be seen.
So many bikes in rural areas have non-functional lights... it's as if they take the bulbs out to save on petrol. Even if not, I often see a headlight blocked by something in the front basket... two or three kids, or the family dog maybe.
I read it that he took the money out in fear of a frozen account and later deposited it into the scammers account, so possibly the bank allowed him to make a substantial cash withdrawal. Also that would not arouse the banks suspicions so much.
