  1. Your comment suggests otherwise.
  2. I guess you've never been to Indonesia.
  3. Bob, if you're serious about getting off the demon drink then why are you posting in the Pub and not the Health and Medicine forum?
  4. I've used Linux and it isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I can't stand it and would rather wait hours for a Windows update to install than have to go on to a Linux forum to find a solution to a basic problem only to find that one doesn't exist unless you're a computer programmer. Way back when I had a Dell XPS laptop and a Panasonic Viera HD LED TV. Windows had no trouble sending video and audio to the TV but neither Ubuntu nor Linux Mint could send audio to the telly. Hours of searching on Linux forums yielded no viable solutions, only the usual "Linux good, proprietary bad" nonsense, and useless tips like "is Alsa mixer" installed. Another time I was running Linux Mint in VM and one day when I tried to log in I just got a blank screen instead of the login page. Again, hours of searching on Linux forums to no avail so I had to bin the install and start again. I gave up after that, too much drama and too much messing about in the old-timey terminal. Windows sucks but Linux sucks worse.
  5. I've noticed this too and yes it probably is contempt (or apathy) born of familiarity. Then again, I feel the same way about a lot of the wait staff at my regular watering holes; I wish they'd bloody up and leave so a prettier, friendlier one can take their place.
  6. I only knew the Hot and Cold on Yamato, just down from 2nd Road. I think it was the Nevada where I first heard that expression, way back when it was the Las Vegas.
  7. <deleted>, it's so they (rightly) don't have to mop the floor a hundred times a day. Ekspecially if they've got a shiny white tiled floor, that shows up the dirt like nobody's business.
  8. Windows beats Linux because even though it sucks, Linux sucks worse for the average user. And yes, I have used Linsux many times and not just as a casual user. I'm not going to provide any examples because the last time I did you came up with a flippant response along the lines of "Linux is easily customisable" when is is in fact not, unless you are a computer programmer. Hint: it was about how after hours of searching I couldn't come up with a simple Linux equivalent of Core Temp. You failed to provide a solution other than "Linux is good, mmmkay?".
  9. That's no way to talk about high society Richard!
  10. I first heard that in a Pattaya strip club on Soi Post about 25 years ago and haven't forgotten the truth of it to this day 😂
  11. Amygdala hijack perhaps? Primal instincts can be difficult to suppress for many people. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amygdala_hijack
  12. That was the Māori. Dude in the picture looks like he's a pahangi.
  13. It was probably inevitable that the name was changed but the new name is stupid and it also erases history. The cheese was named after an American cheesemaker, Edward William Coon of Philadelphia, nothing to do with racism or any other perceived injustice.
  14. All the cheese I ate growing up in Sydney tasted perfectly fine. Coon cheese was mum's go to for cheese on toast, lovely stuff.
  15. I've never paid less than 1,000 baht for a key deposit in Thailand.
  16. It's from New Zealand.
  17. Not me. I thought what he did was hilarious! 🤣
  18. "The police are corrupted and government officials can be bribed. Don't do that". Wait, you've just told me I'm a guest in your house and now you're telling me I can't raid the fridge or use the swimming pool? Next you'll be telling me not to check out your wife's ass, what a disrespectful host you are Somchai 😂 Jokes aside, what an odious person. Thankfully I haven't met people like this in real life. Or maybe I have but since I don't speak/don't want to speak Thai I'm blissfully unaware of what gets said in front of my back as it were.

    Lego in Pattaya?

What about the LEGO official store on Lazada? Or Shopee. They've got heaps of expensive stuff for you to buy for the kids 😉
  20. I think a lot of dudes secretly get off on the idea of owning a vicious animal that can rip other people apart on command. Like that Ramsay Bolton feller in Games of Thrones.
