  1. Do you have this written into your agreement? If not it is my understanding that the owner could sell but that the usufruct remains in place. As a consequence unlikely that anyone would want to pay or accept as collateral.
  2. @david_je I was with Passport Card until they wacked upp the premium 30% about 2-3 years ago and then switched to April International. I had been dealing with AA here but also declined to deal with AA World so currently no broker. If you look at some of the previous April threads on here Sheryl found a French broker that appeared to tick the boxes and his details - in fact just found them if you use this link and go down to her post on Oct 19th - https://aseannow.com/topic/1306387-april-international-some-premium-increase-analysis/page/2/#comments in case you are interested.
  3. In the past, and for many years, I only transferred in once per year (so a reasonably amount) and even though putting a reason down with the remitting bank I was always called by my Thai bank and asked again for the reason. It also gave me a chance to "negotiate" the rate as well.......
  4. I have some issues with the above statements as I think they are somewhat of a generalisation or an over simplification unless I have completely misunderstood the PND 90. Having looked through the PND90, I for one, have no idea where I might put potential remittances, like pensions for example? In past interactions with Revenue Department staff in Jomtien for claiming simple refund of withheld interest the helpfulness was mixed at best. Not being fluent in Thai and even with a "helper" I could not imagine trying to complete this form with them at this moment. Perhaps it is just me (probably ) but as someone who has completed UK paper forms for some years now with the help of the Notes I can't see the Thai return being a "simple affair for most people".
  5. Mike I asked you in the tax guide thread to confirm if one should be looking at only the PND 90 if no Thai income from employment and not the PND 91. You have mentioned that you have filed on a number of occasions so can I ask which you used?
  6. I could ask why you were in the far right lane knowing you had to turn left.......... I presume you mean Bangchak? I guess you forgot the petrol station directly opposite where you come off the 7....oh yes, you were in the wrong lane.........
  7. So just to be clear anyone not working here (being paid in Thailand) and if wishing to declare whatever funds they remit here should be using PND 90?

    Physio Therapy 2024

Perhaps you can list who you have tried - which may at least help others? The ones I am aware of - Russian guy who was in Centre Condo - a friend went there and thought he was good but this was before Covid. Clinic on 3rd Road which is just past Tonys gym etc on the same side - was mentioned in an older thread There used to be a practice at Diana Driving range but not sure if still there.
  9. Don;t they also fine you an amount for late payment? I was a few days late once on a motor cycle and had to pay a few extra baht. if so he isn't going to be able to avoid paying for the current period unless as you say he just leaves it perpetually.......
  10. Thanks for the link - Not as simple as you are alluding however - Comprehensive article on NRLS https://www.alanboswell.com/news/guide-to-non-resident-landlord-scheme-nrls/ NRL1 https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/non-resident-landlord-application-to-have-uk-rental-income-without-deduction-of-uk-tax-individuals-nrl1 I have been doing this but you still pay the tax on it all be it now twice per year based on a tax return.
  11. It used to be 100 baht - I paid that years ago when I first did a reclaim on tax withheld on interest and I claimed for 2 years......
  12. I thought you had to take them down and personally file at a revenue office..........? Even if not I personally would not trust in posting such a document but that is just me.
  13. Article from the Register following Seagate announcement and WD apparently have already said the same - https://www.theregister.com/2024/04/23/seagate_hdd_prices/
  14. Well I filled in one for years without ever adding Tha tax residency to it and it was never queried even though they have my address here....... More recently adding in Thailand I still did not give a TIN and again not asked for so not sure you can say it is "required".
  15. I remember watching that in the UK when it came out. I thought it was good (then) but my memory of it is that it was very dark. The theme tune is very memorable.
  16. Could you not just change the default USB configuration in Developer Options to No data transfer - depending on Android version and software......?
  17. I only have to look at your title thread to see it is misleading. Are you talking one of the countries currencies or crypto - because if the former you may be better putting it on the 4.30 at Kempton......
  18. yes the price of oil being a classic example - and I am not referring just to the fuel for transport.
  19. Try reading his original post again and have a think about it. it was nothing to do with people cancelling......

    Yellow book

As @scubascuba3 says his comment was from only a couple of years ago. From what I can see the requirements posted on the first page of this thread haven't changed in the 12 or so years since I went and asked at the Pattaya Nua office - where they said it would be easier if I was married....... Whether their attitude has changed to be more willing I don't know but it is theoretically still a ball ache if you have to get those translations from Bangkok. Examples posted from other districts don't really help the original poster.
  21. You are joking aren't you.....? Monday 15th I unfortunately had to venture down Soi Buakhow for a short stretch from Klang to soi 19.. I was going to post the dashcam footage but unfortunately it had already recycled but at 6.30pm it was still like a war zone with no sign of stopping. Tuesday 16th I was in a bar and a Thai boy with a foreign older guy utilised a bin full of water left outside a massage shop opposite to throw water at passing motor cyclists - and this was after 10pm. One of the massage ladies joined in.
  22. Ok so a little more involved than your original comment which imo alluded to those retired and not earning in Thailand. I don't totally disagree but one can hope that this and other threads will arm readers appropriately.
  23. I am not doubting your personal anecdote but otherwise I do not remember reading of "surprise visits" earlier in this thread unless it was to do with having claimed for tax withheld on interest perhaps? I don't suppose you have bookmarked any of these reports?
  24. I mentioned this in a thread where someone mentioned a holiday but I had not noticed it on the list. I note that even Visakha Bucha day on the 22nd May is not currently mentioned. At least the link shown in the thread shows an updated list but if the actual list is not going to be updated IMO it would be less confusing to just delete it and leave the link.
