  1. Which member? If you are referring to @essexman in the pinned thread it had nothing to do with Immigration so I am presuming you mean somebody else?
  2. HMRC have now got an online complaint form which I used late last year. I had a response within about 2 weeks from memory and actually received some compensation. May be worth trying (if they still have it) rather than a letter. https://www.gov.uk/complain-about-hmrc
  3. This has been reported by other posters fairly regularly in the past. Do you do a tax return? If yes then you could just claim back the (what seems to be small) overpaid tax on that once a year.
  4. Yes used them for 3/4 items in last couple of months. No issues at all.
  5. I don't know specifically with AIS but they may just run the fibre to where you want depending on the distance. The only issue is the fibre is not like coax so may not be able to keep it as flush to all surfaces (think corners) as coax. The ONT is basically the modem and the fibre terminates into it with probably an SC or LC connector and will have an ethernet socket to connect a cable from there to your router. It also needs a power supply. Here is a picture of a True box -
  6. Care to quote your source for the "over 65 and disabled" version?
  7. I presume the big covered one at the Pattaya Tai end of Soi Buakhao. They have a fair no. of fruit vendors normally.
  8. Just make sure it is clear that this is for your Thai assets only and excludes any others. You may want to check your UK will wording to make sure that there isn't anything in there that will contradict having a separate Thai will.
  9. I had a quick look (but not using the AN search function) and this came up - Several examples for Kasikorn.
  10. It all depends on what your situation was in 2016 when it all changed. How many years you had at that point which from memory decided under which system you would be paid at. For example I had to pay for years after 2016 at the highest rate to get to the full "new" figure as I was contracted out but I could not (well I could have but would have made no difference) pay for some cheaper years at Class 2 or whatever rate as I had been working abroad prior to that. There was a lot of negative press a couple or more years ago about people who paid out large sums only to be told they would not get any increase and This is Money Online (Daily Mail) ran a campaign to help people try and get refunds and to publicise the situation. it was discussed on here at the time. Just found this - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/pensions/article-10927867/How-state-pension-Steve-Webb-launches-site-help.html#m6575lcenuvj9mlzzp
  11. This suggests not - https://www.reddit.com/r/signal/comments/1e1l97f/calling_landline_possible/?rdt=64118
  12. There has been mention on here of "either/or" accounts where the other person is not visible on the account except to the bank. From memory @chiang mai may have talked about this but I may be taking his name in vain. Try doing a search - and also not sure if you could use for Immigration purposes.
  13. There have been a few threads in the last year or so about people being able to transfer out. From memory it helps with some if you have the form that shows the initial transfer in of similar amounts. Try what @gamb00ler suggests above and/or go and call the help line of the relevant banks - and then go and ask in a "main" branch. If you say which banks some posters may be able to give specific advice.
  14. No I am looking also although I still have enough credit for a bit.
  15. Is that not the same for any mobile communications app - including probably Skype........ However as already pointed out to you the whole point is to replace Skype Out as moving from a simple top up as needed to a subscription model which was a relatively cheap and useful way to call fixed line nos. in your home country - think financial institutions and government departments.
  16. Where is the sarcasm emoji...........
  17. They did - and was also widely reported in English language media...... You really are late to the party.....Personally, and yes only my opinion, there was no initial attempt to "target"foreigners as you put it. Which would appear to be the case as so many posters have reported that individual RD offices have seemingly been nonplussed when approached by foreigners requesting TINs when they have no or limited assessable income. If they were targeted don't you think think they would have been all over them......... Really.......you should be happy that you come from a nanny state then....... As to "that is the procedure and process" - you sound like someone from a Health and Safety department. Try joining the real world if this is where you choose to live
  18. Where do you think you are? (or perhaps you have adopted the Thai "Do you know who I am" mindset) Same in most other countries - it is up to you to be aware of the law. I don't know, but I doubt, that the US tax code is completely translated into Thai for example. I know the UK's isn't. Either breathtaking arrogance or blind stupidity
  19. Sounds like they picked that up from the UK public service workers..... They were after a 4 day week on the same hours and pay......... https://www.civilserviceworld.com/professions/article/pcs-demands-shorter-work-week-for-civil-servants Amazingly temporarily slapped down https://www.civilserviceworld.com/professions/article/starmer-no-fourday-week-for-civil-servants
  20. So all from 1 or 2 nationalities only and presumably this was last year so not even due to the change that happened? Any specific reason why they they may have visited you and the others as I have never heard of similar happening in Pattaya for example.
  21. And if you read the comments following it seems pretty clear that he never used the word "foreigners" - so no it didn't state that. And yes a tax resident can be a foreigner before you go down that rabbit hole.
  22. For how long........ Enjoy it while it lasts.
  23. Seems to vary as other posters have apparently got away with it. Plus there was this a month ago -
  24. As usual you have not given the full information. This has not been implemented but announced as a "plan"..... https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cr7enzjrymxo note this part...... Not to say it won't happen.
  25. I take it you have not seen the multiple comments recently from posters in various threads about how their local tax office refused to give them a TIN as they did not need to file...........
