  1. Just downloading Narcos now.

Agree with The Ship. Some abysmal acting but some of the story lines are OK. Thats said I'm still on S01.

There's a new series starting tomorrow that quite appeals 'The Ba***rd Executioner'. Plan to give it a look: tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward The Third's charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again, he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all.

    Narcos was is really good.

The Bastard Executioner's looks to be good as well, GOT fill in!

  2. @ Peterocket

    That's my point, Peterocket.

If he said, "Phnom Penh is a sh*thole." I would have agreed.

However, he said, "Cambodia is a sh*thole" - and he hadn't even been to Sihanoukville. So, the whole country of Cambodia is a "sh*thole" and he hasn't seen much of it at all.

This is why people should not judge Patong, before at least visiting the place, and of course, should not judge Phuket, by Patong.

NKM is right about some expats who are territorial and see little of Thailand and at a micro level, Phuket. I know one Aussie who (did have a bar in chalong pier road, before going broke) who came out to Thailand 3-6 months every year for more than a decade. He remained solely in Chalong. A big day out was going to the beach at Nai Harn.

Who gives a FF, if that's what the bloke wanted to do then that's his prerogative.

  3. Westerners that don't wear helmets are my pet hate, especially the ones taking their kids to school in the mornings at say....Kajonkiet in Kathu...setting a piss poor example to the young ones.

  4. May have been mentioned already but heres one for us Aussies.

A comedy series called Utopia, with Rob Sitch (Hello I'm Mike Moore and welcome to Frontline!).

    Can download it at: https://kat.cr/usearch/Utopia.AU/

The eight-part series follows the working lives of a team in a newly created government organisation responsible for overseeing major infrastructure projects, from announcement to unveiling. Set inside the offices of the "Nation Building Authority" it explores the collision between bureaucracy and grand ambitions.

  5. Just started watching the new Netflix series Narcos - pretty good. You can get the entire first season on Kodi genisis.

    DLing it now, cheers.

For a doco that's totally out there try: The Wild And Wonderful Whites Of West Virginia.

  6. I've had the same problem.

    Buy one of these.

I think its 1/2 inch thread and cut it down with a hacksaw. 5 minute job. Problem solved permanently.

I know exactly what you mean regard the plastic nuts spiting and couldn't find a replacement metal one either.

Bloody excellent idea,Im off to the hardware store(with the tap so i can get the size and thread spot on),

    Cheers muchly.

  7. Try a local shophouse type place - they often have much larger selection of stock than chains. Do you have a lock washer to place above the nut? Plastic should work fine if installed tight (but that may take some adjustments with tap being the turn lever to make tight if this is a single shaft fitting).

If you want a brass nut make sure you can hold it/have wrench - they are really hard to find and some will still not fit.

Yeah a brass nut would be spot on, there's a few small hardware's near us so will give that a shot,

Also yes I have a lock washer between the nut and the sink.

    Cheers.

  8. The kitchen tap's come loose and it's due to the fact that on most of the taps here they use a plastic retaining nut rather than steel or s/steel, anyone seen any with a steel nut anywhere?

Already checked HP, HW's and the building supply place on the bypass, was hoping to avoid the place at and around SB design square but may have to go there if all else fails.

    Cheers in advance.

  9. I came across an interesting series when surfing the latest episodes list on genisis .

Series name is Glitch, it's an Australian series about a bunch of people from over the past 200 years rise from the grave in a small Victorian town. The local policeman discovers them and tried to keep them hidden.

I've watched several episodes and it definitely makes you curious to see more. It's not an edge of your seat cliffhanger can't wait for next weeks episode but more of a "lost" style, what's happening here I need to watch more to get more information.

Maybe not for everybody but I like it so far.

DL'd it last night and watched the 1st episode, your right, looks like an interesting series.

  10. That's when you hire an assassin from Nakhon Si Thammarat. smile.png

Yep. Fee used to be 50K. Wonder what it is nowadays.

Remember the poor female thai accountant from (the Hilton I think) who was shot through her car window in peak hour traffic. I sitting in the traffic behind her when it happened. Plods never made a conviction either.

Had to wonder at the time, was she killed over love or money.

Used to be a lot less...but hey your the guy that knows the seedier side of Phuket better than anyone else cause you've been here such a long time.

  11. What truly bothers me is that xylaphone claims he has lived here for 9 years. So obviously he is fluent in spoken Thai, and yet he still likes to sit in beer bars.

Guess he really does just love the layout.

    Why would that bother you?
  12. There has to be more to it than this.

    1. Full moons are a regular occurrence but I have never seen it this bad.

    2. There aren't so many fishing/squid boats out now due to the "crack down" and the squid boat lights were noticeably absent on Tuesday night

    3. It appeared all overnight.

    4. Look at the size of these trees - now way did they come through storm drains or off fishing boats.

Have seen the beaches like that loads of times over the years unfortunately.
  13. Whats hard to understand?

He asked a young bloke speeding as so many idiots do along the pier to slow down and the bloke went off at him.

Used to take my little boy for walks then in the evening to look at the boats but gave it away for the same reson.

  14. Cant remember what they're called but the shops definitely still there(I go past it every day) and expanding.

We've used them once, the price was fair and job was completed on time as per the quote.

  15. Is anyone on here using majority solar power to run the household, lights and other appliances?

Wasn't wanting solar heating for the water though.

If so,how good is it, prices and company used?

    Cheers
