  1. I saw Kevin in Bristol sometime in the early 80s. He was somewhat the worse for wear by the time he hit the stage but he still belted out some memorable numbers
  2. And if they don't sign up then no degree.
  3. Temper tantrums and unseemly language from the RT crew.
  4. A story of children kidnapped by Russia.
  5. I guess Putin couldn't get back in time from Mariupol. The washing machine semiconductors substituted on his Aeroflot Airbus flight were probably playing up, sending the plane into a spin dry.
  6. Russia's former president, Dmitry Medvedev, threatens The Hague with a missile. As a wit said, ' Why is Russia's answer to every problem to hurl a missile at it?' Flippin morons.
  7. Talking about Gary Gilmore reminded me of this song by Rory. Love the lines -' And if they catch me and put me in the chair, You can sit beside me, there's plenty of room to spare '
  8. Ukraine pilots will soon be ready to fly F16s
  9. It was rough, especially for a white boy. The council moved me to a flat there, the weekends were unbearable. West Indians would have these open 'blues parties' with the reggae bass on full volume all Friday and Saturday night. Next to me was a Vietnamese boat people refugee family with a young baby which would cry all night, sleep was impossible. The police did nothing. I moved out when the young single mother in the flat above robbed my flat when I was away on holiday. The areas nearby were okay though, Montpelier, St Werbergs ( spelling might be dodgy). I haven't been there for a long time but I just can't imagine St Pauls becoming gentrified! Suella Braverman's barking (mad) up the wrong tree trying to deter boat people with Rwanda. She should substitute it for St Pauls. The boats would dry up in a week.
  10. Takes me back to Bristol UK in the 70s. The inner city had yet to be gentrified, the area had pubs with juke boxes reflectiing the tastes of locals, i.e reggae music for the West Indians and Irish country music for the Paddies. A darts board was the other feature. The women were usually working class over 40, heavy smokers and enthusiastic drinkers. The music really added to the atmosphere, slow dancing to the reggae tunes
  11. Never mind chilling, I prefer mine chilled.
  12. 'And over there is the theatre we flattened, killing over 200 people inside, I believe.' ' They deserved to die, Nazi scum.' 'No no, your Excellency Awaiting Trial to The Hague. They were children. There was a large sign written .on the roof informing us children were present. ' ' You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. Will the court accept that?' 'I'm not sure your esteemed master, bare back rider of the steppes. The court may wonder why you were cooking in a kitchen that doesn't belong to you '
  13. Suella Braverman after hearing she is the first Asian migrant to be returned to Africa
  14. Yes, I remember at the time, Gary Gilmore insisted on his execution. He said if ever released again, he would kill for sure.. Yet the murder that got him the death sentence was pointless if I remember right. He shot the garage cashier/ owner, I forget, during a robbery Absolutely no need. I've misunderstood the lyrics here since the song was released. Only hearing the first line, 'Looking Through Gary Gilmore's Eyes', I always thought it was about his execution, and his wondering if in fact it was the right thing to do. If I remember right, his relatives, him and some prison officials partied the night before, including booze. I've just learnt it's about the donation of his eyes! There's a few documentaries about him Thank God guns are hard to come by in the UK
  15. Reckon they copied The Stranglers verse
  16. Solovyev in top surreal form. What an imagination! from the Isle of Man to Scotland. I didn't know they grew magic mushrooms in Russia.
  17. The only part I like on Side 1 but what playing by Gilmour
  18. Up to date Swedish artillery on its way to Ukraine. Moved before the shells have hit the target
  19. The Russians have already captured several volunteers from Western nations. They treated them badly as you'd expect from a brutalized nation but many survived and were even exchanged.
