LTR and the 800,000 Baht Bank Account
khunPer replied to HerewardtheWake's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
To my knowledge: When you stay in the kingdom is based on another visa – LTR – and your extension of stay based on retirement with original entry on a non-OA visa has ceased, you don't need the former bank deposit of 800k baht anymore, but instead you of course need to fulfill the conditions for the new LTR visa... -

Depending what your are looking for. Some times Shopee has better offers than Lazada, and some times the variety of products are larger in Lazada. Use both – like I do – and remember to check seller's ratings and eventual user comments and ratings below the product...

Demand For 712 Baht Minimum Wage Nationwide At May Day Rally
khunPer replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
All that might be possible, when the population becomes the highest income taxed population in the World. That may make them end up with as little as now, and by then complaining about their need for higher income and more welfare, lower electricity bill and lower fuel costs, and lower costs of living. And don't forget that when minimum salary raise the prices for living expenses will go up – because everybody is paid a higher minimum salaray and other salaries also raise, bacause prices and inflation raise – and export falls, as the labour cost becomes too high, which often result in unemployment and more tax money needed for welfare. How I know? Well, I'm from the highest taxed country in the World, yes "Number One", it's named Denmark. The situation there is: An income tax between 38% and 53% plus an extra income tax of 8% on your work-income. i.e., your income tax from work can be between 46% and 61%; 25% v.a.t. on all goods and services; 25-150% tax on new cars – the more expensive car, the higher taxation – plus the annual tax depending on weight and fuel-type; an average unit price (kWh) for electricity equivalent to about 11 baht; diesel fuel around 65 baht per liter; and for the remaining subjects: "You name it, Denmark tax it"... -
In general, inheritance is handled by the court the country where the deceased had permanent residence or where mainly living. The lawyers that wrote the book "Thai Law for Foreigners" suggests to make two Last Will, one for possessions in Thailand following Thai inheritance law, and another for possessions in one's home country following that laws. Be aware that real estate might always be handled in the country where the it is and follows the local law. So if you live permanently in Thailand, it will always be a Thai court (lawyer) that handles the estate, no matter where in the World you die.

Perhaps the climate table for Samui might have your interest, but always remember that weather and climate are two different things. Climate is a long term average, weather is right now and can in Southeast Asia be quite dependent of El Nino and La Nina. Samui has two seasons, summer and rain (monsoon). Furthermore Samui climate and weather is regulated by the north-east monsoon... Just a short distance away, on the opposite side of the Malacca Peninsula, is Phuket; but here it's the south-west monsoon, which results in a quite different climate... So the saying that "the weather is better on Samui" is correct... And if you compare with the Isaan Plateau in northern Thailand, the climate up there is also quite different due to the landscape and surrounding mountains. Furthermore there are three seasons; summer, rain and winter...???? So, the weather is an excellent excuse for selecting the party island...???? Samui as permanent residency for all year summer and barefoot Xmas...

Samui 2023 - Whats happening !

When I checked the Amsterdam-fee, the T-shirt is extra and that is relative expensive, €30, which equals almost 1,150 baht. So an Amsterdam Half Marathon-fee including t-shirt is up in level of 2,500 baht – Samui Half Marathon seems affordable in comparison... -

It's a common way in numerous countries to leave a company without board and directors to have it terminated by the authorities. However the same authorities might in some cases wish to scrutinize the company as the former members of the board and directors are still responsible for what happened before they resigned.
