Cold weather brings brisk business to some Pattaya clothing vendors
Gsxrnz replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I've observed over the years that Thai motorcyclists drive much slower in colder weather at this time of year. The wind-chill factor really screws them up. -
While any bloke would appreciate a power tool as a birthday present, women seem to resent a gift of a household appliance. Strange creatures!

Where to hire an economical car in Bangkok or Pattaya?
Gsxrnz replied to pals08609's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
There are plenty of non mainstream car hire companies in Pattaya. Off hand, there's one at the corner of Thepprasit and Thappraya Roads, and another on the corner of Soi Wat-Boon and 2nd Road. Here's a couple of tips. Make sure the car has first class (fully comprehensive) insurance. Take an extremely long video of every aspect of the car, noting every stone chip and interior defect. Many a minor dent on a rental car has been paid for many times over. -
Evil-Bay is much more reliable for refunds and returns. Most of the stuff available on Lazada and Shoppee originates from the Middle Kingdom anyway, so there is a wider choice and often better pricing on Evil-Bay. Delivery times are back to pre-plandemic timeframes. Bought a new kitchen tap with an extra outlet for filtered water last month from Chayna - arrived in seven days.

Commissar Jacinda Hardon has turned NZ into a modern-day Gulag. Her style of Totalitarianism is not Orwell's jackboot in the face, but a warm motherly cuddle and a soft spoken "I know what is best for you, whether you like it or not, my children.....and you will do what you are told". Christ on a bike, I'm only thankful she didn't marry Justin Trudeau.

Is English Quickly Becoming a Dead Language?
Gsxrnz replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I suspect he is referring to Binary, as in 101010 is binary for the answer to the ultimate question of the Universe, and also being a perfect number. I'm out. -
What is the capital city of Thailand? Hmmm...
Gsxrnz replied to worldexpress's topic in General Topics
In Danish, Pussi, Dik, and Tits are all direct translations to the same English colloquialisms. But Kok translates to Chef in Danish. There's something very Freudian about this, or maybe I'm having a Sesame Street flashback. -

You just described the core of the post-modernist's ideology. -
The flap style drains you recommend are a good way of avoiding smells. The only problem being that you have to ensure it is cleaned regularly. My wife's hair eventually builds up over time, and stops the flap from closing properly.

66-year-old motorcyclist loses finger after rear-ending sedan
Gsxrnz replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I hope it wasn't the pinky finger from his dominant hand - retraining his other hand to relieve nasal congestion may be an issue. On the other hand, time will be saved at nail cutting time. -
I don't begrudge anybody having a beer at any time of the day or night. But what is it with the dudes who buy a beer at 6am from the 7/11 and drink it sitting on the steps, wearing short-shorts with no underwear, and their tackle poking out? Side Note - who's responsible for the Scandinavians and Russians not getting the memo circa 1985 that short-shorts and budgie smugglers (Speedos) ceased to be de riguer unless you were running a marathon or swimming in the Olympics?

Indonesia passes criminal code banning sex outside marriage

I doubt they have sufficient square meterage of prison space to fully enforce the law. -
Drunk military "colonel" threatens pub-goers - "Don't you know who I am?"

I don't think he could successfully kill them using abusive language. -
I helped a few of those Russian girls out when the rouble was non-negotiable. ????

And when the fast approaching tosser behind you flashes his lights to tell you to get out of the way, activate your right-hand indicator.

It's actually a good read. I'm especially impressed with the definition (on page 1) of an automobile as any engine powered vehicle with 3 or more wheels. And the definition of a motorcycle as anything with only 2 wheels, except when it has an additional wheel for a sidecar, being 3 wheels.

Governments have developed an aversion to paper money. It allows far too much freedom to the serfs. Give it ten years (or less) and the WEF idea of digital currency will be the norm. If your government doesn't like you, they may let you buy food with your digital currency, but not an airline ticket. Or if they think you're too fat, your digital currency will only buy healthy food. And what better way to ensure your personal carbon footprint allocation is policed. But don't worry, Victory Gin will still be available at the Chestnut Tree Cafe.

As an owner of many new vehicles over the years, I can assure you that following the first stone-chip, or having your door panel dinged in a supermarket carpark, it won't seem all that important. Meanwhile, consider getting your front bumper and hood wrapped in clear plastic, park it under cover to avoid UV, and apply a teflon coating.

I agree. Rats and mice aren't famous for chewing the actual copper.
