  1. Cutting Edge Engineering is awesome, I enjoy all of their content. If you like Curtis and Homeless, you should check out Inheritance Engineering. Equally as interesting, but on a smaller scale.
  2. Try the Jeweller's shop on Beach road, somewhere around Soi 13/2. I had rings sized there, but quite a few years ago.
  3. Translated, they fired a pipe bomb into the sky, and the pipe bomb did what pipe bombs do.
  4. Maybe I'm wrong, but in our post-modernist society there is now no objective truth, only social constructs. It will remain like this until we are all huddling hungrily around a fire in the dark, each of us with an equitable sized pile of rubble.
  5. There's so much to learn about these new fangled inventions.
  6. It's all to do with the international bank compliance on money laundering. Banks and governments want to know which countries you are earning and paying tax. Each country can issue you with a TIN. I wouldn't go haphazardly obtaining a TIN in Thailand, as that means you have to declare potentially having multi tax residency to your bank- and subject to scrutiny by your friendly tax officials. Second hand information - a Brit told me that if you don't have a UK TIN number, you can apply for one online, or use your National Insurance number instead.
  7. One of the blokes is doing a two handed "point". That's got to be a first, surely! ????????
  8. The real story here is that the Highway BIB's bothered to stop anybody at all.
  9. About that opening paragraph. Don't ever have a conversation with a Thai (in English or Thai) about three people doing three things at three places, on three occasions. It will do your head in.
  10. My M-Pass battery conked out 6 months ago. I assumed a battery change would fix it. Missus advises me that battery cannot be changed and she took the device to wherever she originally got it and was issued with a new device.
  11. This clearly explains the game to all those that don't come from a Commonwealth country.
  12. Not very clear in the photo, but it appears somebody may be teasing feeding them dangling food from a bamboo pole. Probably a de-meeted chicken carcass, same fare as the crocodiles get.
  13. China has hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of EV's mothballed in fields all over the country, Produced to receive subsidies and prove how green they are to the WEF.
  14. SangSom rum is cheap and cheerful. Every bar has it and it's 60-70 baht at the average Bar Beer. Sure, it's a quaffing rum. Taken neat, it's a bit rough IMHO. If you want a local gut-rot whisky, try Blend 285. Blended from imported whisky barrel dregs and ethanol. 285 refers to the octane.
  15. The real issue is which gender the eventual universal AI identifies as. If it decides it's feminine, we're screwed. If it decides it's masculine, it will probably give the world a dose of actual reality where facts don't care about your feelings. Let's face it....we're screwed.
  16. Maybe it's the cologne? All jokes aside, I have never experienced anything like the OP describes. Quite the opposite, I find Thais very open and welcoming, and always up for a laugh or a joke. Not to say that they drive me mental sometimes. However, on entering bars, restaurants and song-taows, I am often in the position of having to be very selective of where I sit because of the look/dress/demeanour of some Europeans.
  17. From the full article. "In an interview with an eyewitness, 38-year-old Ms. Prinya Kamphaengphet, she said she was out for a walk when she noticed the injured victim racing side by side with a vehicle that resembled a baht bus." The dude was allegedly racing what "resembled" a baht bus. And ironically, she was just out for a walk at 3:30am. So...was it actually a baht bus, were they racing, and was she really just out for her morning constitutional?
  18. Just one step closer to soylent-green.
  19. Just a thought - are any LED's lighting up when you hold the on/off switch in for 6 to 10 seconds? Maybe it's just the screen that's died.
  20. What he's really saying is that the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Welcome to Thailand.

    Condoms :)

The size the OP wants is about the width of a Pringles container. That would make a Thai girl's hand look very small. Just sayin'.
  22. I think a turned up collar on a polo shirt is probably only a minor fashion crime. A real fashion crime is the dude I see wearing a Rodger the Dodger (red and black) striped t-shirt tucked into green/blue/red tartan shorts, with a white belt, black socks up to the knees, and sporting platform soled roman sandals. This could be considered a crime against humanity - or at the very least a potential hazard to passing traffic.
