The guy has zero people skills, which is not a crime, but it is pretty important for someone seeking to build a career in elected office, and yeah, some have won elections without it. Aside from being on the stump and addressing crowds, having the ability to reach people should reveal itself in 1-on-1 situations. Trying my best to keep this bi-partisan and objective, some of you younglings might be unfamiliar with a few of the names. This is not about who is best-suited or what their political records are. Some people have it, and they know it: Bill Clinton, Reagan, JFK, Obama, with a maybe for Newsom. With some it takes effort, and they can make it work, sometimes: W, Kerry, Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, honorable mention to Ross Perot. There's those who don't have it, like Cheney (at least he understood that about himself), Nixon (after being routed by JFK in 1960 he understood), Pence, Jeb, Dukakis, HW, Gerry Ford, Dole. And then there are those who can sometimes make it work, but it comes out as contrived and manipulative, like a car salesman: Hillary, DT, Rubio, Sununu, Mitt Romney. Special category for the bullying personality, which succeeds on occasion: McCain, Nixon, Hillary; DT is the historic front runner here, so far, mixing his bullying with insult humor and the slimy manipulative lessons he learned in the NYC real estate jungle. But back to the man named in the heading. Check out the vid of JD in the donut shop that came out in the past few days; ok, so it wasn't as bad as the yoghurt shop incident in the fictitious series Veep. Contrast that with a current vid of Walz going to a fast-food place.

When people from the same country happen to meet each other they tend to socialize with each other. Americans appear to avoid each other. This observation was told to me by at least 3 people, all of them Brits, and that was over 10 years ago. Go figure.

Foreign man caught standing naked in cannabis shop in Phuket
bendejo replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
That's the rule in Berkeley, California. There are people who go naked to protest something or other, was not all that unusual for a while. The thing of it is they are NOT people you would want to see nekkid. -

Trump Faces Backlash After Falsely Implying Taylor Swift's Endorsement
bendejo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Afghanistan? Also he backed off on Syria and Venezuela, capitulating to his buddy Putin in both cases. Who would have thought they'd see a US president be so openly traitorous? Why is the man on the right smiling? Why does the man on the left look like he is in pain and still hunched over? To paraphrase the line from the movie Casablanca "we'll always have Helsinki." -
Trump Lashes Out as Kamala Harris Gains Momentum: "not fair"
bendejo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
What?! DT being victimized again? That poor man! He should take his blanket and go home to his current wife, teach all you bullies a lesson. -
Yeah, John Galt. I just read one of his screeds, made it sound like Stickman burned down an orphanage or some such. I think I saw it on a mongering board.

Trump Faces Backlash After Falsely Implying Taylor Swift's Endorsement

It doesn't get any sadder than someone telling lies about how popular they are. Pathetic. -
Last I heard of Stickman was some guy with the name of an Ayn Rand character was denouncing him with all sorts of stuff I didn't get, didn't sound interesting either, no loss. That was in the '00 decade.

Trump Claims Kamala Harris Declined Fox News Debate
bendejo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I would not put it past Fox to bring up something like eating babies. Who in their right mind would want to deal with that? -
Mathias states, "My puppies can tell when someone doesn't like them and it hurts their feelings." See!?! People contributing to this thread with absolutely no regard for the doggy's feelings! If your mum could see you now! Actually bar girls are the same way, but if you want them to bite you it costs extra.

I'm concerned about how things will be handled when Team Orange inits STOP THE STEAL AGAIN. It's going to be different: some people with a little more saavy at these things will be in play, and the buffoon will be sidelined by the sort who bought off SCOTUS who will now live out their Project 2025 fantasies while he's tucked away at his various country clubs.

If you get a call that your account was hacked, hang up and call your bank. Use the telephone number you always use to when you need to call them. Ask them something about your account. If there is a problem it will be mentioned. You can go online, of course, but if your connection was hacked they could be logging all you do, maybe that is how they got your data. So if you do use a different machine and different net connection.

Elon Musk Extends Invitation to Kamala Harris For Interview

She would be a fool to sit down with EM. He'll probably ask her about eating babies and devil worship. -
From recent news, I get the impression DT is pulling the same thing with Israel: no agreements as it would make Biden/Dems look good. If someone follows the money and finds Team MAGA has been paying someone in Hamas to keep the conflict up it is going to be embarrassing (to say the least). WSJ is part of electric Murdoch land: knowledge and correctness do not matter, just adhere to the orthodoxy, as Roger Ailes would say.

This is where they make themselves despicable: they come up with these things and when the media reveals them for what they are they say "What? What's that? Who, me? I never heard of this!" Like the little kid with crumbs all over his face who says he didn't eat all the cookies, but there is no mirth to it. Sneaky little rats who think they are so clever. But outside the brain trust (that is sarcasm) and circle of support they look like cowards and charlatans, which they are.

So, where are you on windmills? Myself, I live about 25 miles from a wind turbine. I think my parakeet died from cancer because of it.
