Many deliveries are now within a day or two, and cheap. If people need/want something really urgent they can arrange with the shop instant delivery i.e. with one of the many motorcycle taxi riders. Obviously that costs extra.

Please remind me, to which party does the Bush family belong to? It's good that Trump didn't start any war until now. But in case he will be president again, what do you think he will do with Israel? Will he stop all weapon deliveries to them? Or will he send and finance weapons for billions to that country like any other president before him?

I guess this is not what you want to hear, but did you consider that she might sell "your" land so that she gets some money to keep her own house where she lives? Or she might refinance "your" land and make a deal with the bank(s).

Many, maybe most, US politicians want more wars. Because more wars mean more money for the industrial military complex. And that means more donations for those politicians. And if people die in those countries far away, who really cares?

When Trump says he wants everybody stop dying, does that also include Palestinians? Or are those just animals and it doesn't matter?

I am just surprised that this happened (I guess) for years. He wasn't difficult to find. The evidence was out there. If what he did was illegal, then I would have thought they would have arrested him earlier. It's not really important for me, but I guess there might be nuances in the law. I.e. if anybody makes a video while having sex is probably not illegal. Publishing that video in Thailand is probably illegal. The bad guy could have made a "private" video in Thailand and someone else might have uploaded it in another country. Maybe some scenario like that kept it legal - just my idea why it might have happened.

Is it? There used to be a few websites where the main actors were girls from the bars in Bangkok. It seems the main male actor (I think he was tall and had no hair) was well known in the bars. That went on for years. Was it illegal all the time? I know that Thai authorities often look away if Thais are not exactly following the laws. But the same authorities also seem to be keen on arresting foreigners who break Thai laws. With that guy the evidence was easily available on the internet. And I am sure I am not the only guy who recognized some of the girls. How could that happen for years if it was illegal? As far as I remember the websites were not officially accessible in Thailand. But with a VPN that obviously was no problem.

Obviously, I don't know what happened in the situation you describe. But in general, I think it is good if guests comment why they do what they do. High prices are obviously a reason, but it can also be that the place is too loud, too crowded, he does not see item X, the place smells bad, or whatever reason. And obviously that helps only if the manager and the people who work there listen. I think it is typical Thai that when something was not the way they want it, that they just don't return. It is more typical farang to complain about the bad coffee or the cold food or whatever. The management will only be able to fix problems when they know what the problems are.

That is a price increase of 43%! And that is a big difference if the buffet is basically the same.

The first thing they will notice it that it is a lot more expensive to pay for a bus or a train in those developed countries.

That reminds me when I just arrived in Bangkok and stayed in a small cheap hotel. One night I was very horny but somehow didn't find anything decent. So, I took something not so decent back to the hotel. I thought I better ask the front desk guy to collect her ID card, just in case. When I told the guy behind that desk, he smiled at us and said: Don't worry, I know her. So much about that.

I will keep that in mind. I should buy some cheap land and build some houses somewhere far away from everything. And then I will build a 7/11 and the value will go up rapidly. 😉 Just joking, yes, I understand what you mean.

Personally, I spent a lot of money and time to make my apartment just the way I want it. The first step was ripping everything out to bare walls. And then I still removed and moved some walls. And then I made it as good as I could according to my taste. Result: Now I live in a wonderful apartment. I enjoy it. If I am in the bathroom or kitchen, I enjoy the premium sink, toilet, faucets, and all that. If I would have spent less effort and money it would likely be like: It does the work, I can live here, but it could be so much better. I intend to live here for the next 20 years or however long I will live. I consider spending one time lots of money and effort a good investment. That is an investment in my life and comfort - even if it might not be a great investment if I would ever sell it.

That sounds like the white knight and princess scenario. Can it happen? Yes. How often does it happen? Probably not so often. People who don't trust others don't just change to trusting one person completely, forever. In fact, many find reasons not to trust another person. Like: You told me you want to a business meeting. I think you met another woman... There are thousands of variations of this. There are always possible reasons why people don't trust each other. One of them is that we are all not always perfect. Do you really want to spend your life changing her to something she is not? Why not look for a partner who is more compatible from the start?

I started a similar thread in this forum a couple of weeks ago. It received many comments. Maybe have a look.

And is that the kind of house you want to live in? Maybe it's only me, but I want to live in a place which I like and enjoy. I don't want to think every day: It's not what I really want, but at least it was cheap.

We can all change. But we never change fundamentally. Lots of our behavior develops in early childhood. If that is over, that's it. No fundamental changes anymore. Obviously, we can try to support people in need. But how many of us want to do that for years only to find out that the change is minimal.

Obviously, we all have to live with compromises. But some personality traits are just incompatible. If you want now a gf, and maybe another one in a couple of months, and then another one, then that is maybe good enough. But if you intend to stay with her "forever", then maybe think about if in 10 years you will be annoyed that she never comes to kiss you and you know that never happened since you are together with her, and it will never change. Maybe now you think that is not a big problem, because if you go and kiss her, she lets you do it. But in a few years...
