Nobody should need any more reasons to reject this person as possible future president. But it seems lots of GOP voters just love him, regardless of what he does. The only real question is: When will he go do jail? If that ever happens then the world will be a better place.

You have to register a Thai company (likely with >50 Thai owner), have an address with VAT registration (which can't be done in many residencies), you need Thai employees, and then it still takes time and there are lots of conditions. And if you are new to Thailand then it's certainly a good idea to speak with more experienced people about your business ideas. Lots of farangs fail because they have ideas which just don't work in Thailand - at least not the way they thought they should work. And my personal advice: Settle somewhere where you want to live. Not just a place where your wife wants to be and maybe where her family is. Don't buy property, especially in the name of your wife, if you are not 100% sure that this is where you want to live. There are enough stories in this forum how not to do it. I suggest read a lot before you make the same mistake as others. Good luck!

Is it up to the government who will be jailed and who not? As far as I know all people who are convicted to jail without possible appeals go to jail. As far as I know there is only one person in Thailand who can pardon him. No government or PM can do that.

When I was young my friends had an incident with fire in a car. The time from the moment that they saw a little smoke until the moment the car was immersed in flames was very short. Lots of people still wear masks. But IMHO it's no problem if you don't. Now I only wear a mask when I go to a hospital or i.e. a crowded sky train. I don't wear a mask in shopping centers or outdoors or when I visit restaurants. No problem. I suggest just make sure you have a mask with you if there is a situation where you think you should wear one, i.e. in a hospital. About "dirty looks": I gave up thinking about any looks which I get since I have a pretty girlfriend many years ago. Some people look, some people don't look. Why do they look? Because my belly, my t-shirt, my hair, no mask? I don't know and it doesn't make sense to try to understand why people might look, there are hundreds of possible reasons. Since many months I never had anybody telling me I should wear a mask.

Good that business leaders and politicians talk about that. Maybe I missed the news in previous years, but it seems to me at that time politicians decided about wage increases so that they get elected. And they didn't really care what businesses think about that move.
