Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?
OneMoreFarang replied to RSD1's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
So, did you make your first billion already? Or what qualifies you to see the situation so much clearer than others? A decent person will never call anybody else a pedophile unless he is sure that that person is actually a pedophile. He could have called the other guy stupid or idiot or anything like that. He didn't. Musk decided to use that word which can ruin peoples live. -

That is the way you interpret it. That is your problem. -
Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?
OneMoreFarang replied to RSD1's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I don't hate Musk, but I was also critical of him at that time. Musk is smart, but sometimes he thinks he is a lot smarter than he actually is. His submarine idea was stupid, and when he was criticized, he called his opponent a pedophile. Is that what grown up people do? No! It seems to many celebrities think if they are famous for one or two things, then they know everything and have to tell the world what to do here and there and everywhere. They should just shut up and concentrate on the things which they actually good at. -

Let's see how that will work out. I don't think that Musk is impressed by Donald's IQ or his deal making or consistency. It seems to me Musk is opportunistic with Trump. For how long? I don't know. But I would be very surprised if that will go on for more than a year. Both have a huge ego, and both often talk (twitter) before they think. -
I guess part of the answer is how high quality do you want? MP3 is a lossy audio format. You lose quality compared to the original. Maybe not much, but you lose quality. If the cassette tapes are something which you won't find commercially like a private recording, then maybe it's important to you that you can hear it at all, even if the quality is not so high. If you want high quality for both of above, that is more difficult. If the recordings are commercially available, then it is highly likely that you can download or buy them somewhere.

I read the PM2.5 level that is shown on my air purifier. The level changes, but I don't remember seeing it over 40 when I switch it on. I used to live in a lower floor, and I am pretty sure the air pollution was higher at that time. I don't have any high accurate measurement devices. But it seems to me, and my logic tells me, that 100m above ground the air quality is better. How much? I don't know. But enough to notice it.

Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?
OneMoreFarang replied to RSD1's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Media = newspapers, websites, TV, social media, and much more. You can try to avoid mass media or mainstream media, but if you want to have an idea of what is going on in the world, how do you inform yourself. I think the best we can do is to read/listen to many media sources and don't believe everything they say. I think at the end of the day we will never know the whole truth about many events. We can be more of less sure about some details, but not so sure about other details. -

I don't know all the details. But I am pretty sure we would not have had a modern electric car like the Tesla without him, at least not at that time. And probably rockets would still be as expensive as before when NASA built them. So, all in all, Musk did a lot to advance modern technology. -
What did you have for breakfast?
OneMoreFarang replied to BritManToo's topic in Western Food in Thailand
I did this the first time. I put it in the oven 180 degree with heat from up and down for about 10min. And when I saw it was not really brown on top I changed the oven to grill for another 2 minutes. When I do it again, I plan to keep it a minute or two longer in the oven. I was inspired by this: -

What do you mean with "now"? As far as I know have US presidents the right to hire any advisor they like. As far as I know those people are not elected. -

Ok, please experts, what is a good cheese for this kind of sandwich? I thought that square cheddar cheese is the right kind of cheese where the cheese should melt. If not, why not? And which cheese (available in Bangkok) would you suggest? In general, I like Edam Cheese (the real one, not in little plastic bags). I used something like this, I don't remember the brand. -

That's what I hoped for. But in reality, it seems too many people are so stupid that they don't figure it out. Unfortunately, there is no cure for stupid. -

No. But looking at the picture it almost looks like that. In hindsight I should have left it in the oven for a minute or two longer. Next time. This is how it looked like half through my preparation - no wrap anymore. 😉 -

Thaksin to Discuss Global Path for Thai Models with Naomi Campbell

She was a supermodel, a long time ago. Now she is 54. And somehow, I would be surprised if Thais want to listen to a "black" woman. -
I have a Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier, about 4000 THB, I don't remember the model number. It shows when the filter should be changed. In my case maybe every 6 months. And I do exchange the filter. It seems some people try to clean the filter, but I don't think on that level that is really possible. Similar to this: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/1-xiaomi-mi-air-purifier-4-compact4lite44pro-th-version-i5174555610-s21937814598.html?

High floor condominium - up here the pollution is not half as bad as on street level. ACs with filters. Air purifier in the bedroom. Personally, I only had a problem with the bad air when I want to sleep. With better air quality high up and the air purifier that problem is basically solved for me. I also ride motorcycle in the bad air. But for whatever reason that doesn't really affect me.

Trending:The world is waking up to the Woke Progressives
OneMoreFarang replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Is there something like "the left"? And is there something like "the right". The problem, especially in the USA, is the fact that voters have only the choice between two bad options. A couple of months ago I made an online test about left and right. On some issues I agreed more with what is called the left and on some issues I agreed more with the right. There is a big spectrum on the left and a big spectrum on the right. And then there are obviously just bad choices of people who run for office. Some are demented, some serial liars, some just say what the advisers tell them to say, etc. As far as I see the woke is similar to the extreme left. Most don't like them, including the moderate left. The problem with those woke idiots is that they have very loud voices and too many people on the center left are scared to tell the extremists to shut up or go away. -
But then there is the neutral and earth "test". Somehow it works...
