  1. I am not American and obviously I don't vote over there. I have to admit I heard about this guy the first time today. But on the first glance he seems like a good choice. I also like the fact that Trump did not chose a woman, or a black person, or anything like that just to make some voters happy. He selected what seems to be a competent person. And that person is male and white. That doesn't mean I don't like women or people of color or other minorities. They might be great; Obama is a good example. But doing what Biden did, I want a VP who is a black woman, is just crazy when the first priority should be to find someone competent. Why look in the 5% black women bracket if you can look at 100%.
  2. "Tell one of them to 'get f$%ked'" Who does something like that? Where I come from and wherever I lived, that is not the kind of language normal people use with each other. I.e. if one of those taxi guys would try to charge too much, maybe I would tell him "that is too much", or maybe I would laugh, like, good joke, try again. Is there any place in the world where people use those words regularly like they say hello? It's like that in rap often used word motherf#$#. I don't think it's necessary to have a hair trigger if someone reacts very forceful at such allegations. I guess most people don't mean it literally. But that is the literal meaning, so don't be surprised.
  3. I get your point and possibly you noticed the 😉 in my post. But I think we can agree that many Americans use those 4 letter words all the time. A couple of days ago there was an article about an (presumably) American guy in the BTS who told a woman that he considers using that f-word is plain English language. I disagree. I didn't learn it in school, and I know many British guys, mostly older, who never use those words.
  4. I was told to avoid that area. Too many Brits. 😉
  5. In my experience motorcycle taxi riders still won't fight anybody just because he wants to park in a "restricted area". Likely they would tell him not to do that. Or they would stand where the guy wants to park. If anybody insists to use "their" space, and/or tells the guys to f$# o@# or something like that, then there might be bad consequences. But not just because anybody attempted to park a bike. I parked often enough in areas with motorcycle bikes for a few minutes, after I asked them if that is ok. Sometimes they are ok with a few minutes parking, sometimes not. And if they say no, then that is a no for me. I don't argue about it with them.
  6. Yes, he tries to stay relevant. But it seems to me he is losing most of the time.
  7. Veritable proof? No, sorry, I can't offer any police reports and I am not one of those influencers who runs around with a camera. And best of all, I don't care if you believe me or not.
  8. Do most _-taxi guys have a hair trigger? I don't think so. I use regular taxis and motorcycle taxis in Thailand since decades. Sometimes I disagree with them about their price (before or after the trip), sometimes I ask them to drive or ride slower, and I honked my horn from my own motorcycle often enough at them. How often was I attacked? Never. I also never used 4 letter words with them, especially that f word. Most civilized people in the world don't like to hear that word. Accept maybe Americans, but we can argue if they are part of the civilized world. 😉
  9. He should behave and not assume he can do and say whatever he wants. That's a good start.
  10. What should a small girl do if she is up against someone bigger? She asked the local guys if they can help her. Does that surprise you?
  11. Maybe that shows us that nobody takes him serious anymore. He is an old man who talks a lot, but his time is over.
  12. Check YouTube. For some devices this is relative easy, for others it is nearly impossible. Even if you don't want to (try) do it yourself. That should give you some knowledge how difficult it is. Make sure you lookup your exact model. There are huge differences between different Surface models.
  13. Good that right wing social media users would never ever do such things. Personally, I think there is nothing to celebrate.
  14. Speeding? At least in that video he rides slowly. And maybe, just maybe, he has a good reason to do that. An example would be to bring some urgently needed medicine or something like that.
  15. And now? How many other load sharks operate in that area? Will they all be arrested? Or is this only elimination of the competition?
  16. Only well-connected people would think they can get away with that. Follow the money!
  17. Transportation would be very different "back home". Here, I ride my bike most of the time to all the nearby places which I visit all the time. And sometimes I use a taxi if I go further away or need to transport anything. Back home, riding motorcycle in the cold and rain is no fun at all. I would need a car. In Thailand I never had a car because I didn't need one. This is definitely a big difference. And here, I live in the middle of the city. Back home, that would be very expensive and/or undesirable.
  18. Maybe that .exe just doesn't do anything. Or when it starts it looks up something, like i.e. the OS version, and when it doesn't find what it expects, it just stops. No .exe has to give any error message; they can just do nothing.
  19. After I tried every KTM shop which I could find in Bangkok, I found a little independent shop. The owner Japanese-Thai, seems to know what he is doing. What I reported above happened in all KTM shops for the last couple of years - after Burn Rubber stopped importing them. I still like my KTM, but the available service is just bad. With the service manual and the list, yes, every authorized shop should have that list, and it's easy to get. But it seems they are used to customers who want it cheap and the stamp for the service and that's it. IMHO buying an expensive bike and then buying cheap oil is just very stupid.
  20. I don't know the details about that bike. But most importantly make sure they use the recommended oil, maybe synthetic oil, see manual. Maybe also print out the details about that 12k service from your manual. Like, what work should be done, fluids changes, etc. Give them the list and tell them you want that all of that is done. And when you get your invoice, and there are not at least a couple of gaskets listed, then you know they probably didn't do what they should have done. I have a KTM Duke 390 and a couple of authorized KTM dealers wanted to use cheap oil for the service. It's difficult to understand how this kind of bad service is accepted by the management.
  21. Israels does whatever they want. Because especially now most leaders of other countries are busy with other things. Who in this world really cares how many Palestinians die? Almost nobody.
  22. Personally, I think it makes a big difference if I have to go to a cashier and pay there, or if there is mostly one waitress responsible for my table. If there is one "personal" waitress, then likely I will tip. If there is just someone on the cash register, and sometimes a tipping-jar is hidden, then I likely won't give them tip.
  23. It seems some Thais try to find work with lots of OT Over Time possibilities. A couple of extra hours every day, extra hours on the weekends. At the end, they still earn little, but at least more as if they would have only the 8-5 job. For people in the service industry, like waiters, tips are a big part of the income. And, at least in the better places, the 10% service charge.
