Could you afford to live in the UK compared to Thailand?
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That happens when people vote for a clown. -
I am always confused why many people seem to look at the world in black and white. Of course, there are also bad guys in the current administration. If A is bad that doesn't mean B is good. A and B can be both bad or both good. Or somewhere in between or a little good and a little bad. But I find it hilarious when people who take orders from the convicted criminal criticize others. Why don't they clean up their own house first?

If you have German nationality and if you would arrive in Germany without any money and no living relatives, then I am pretty sure Germany would take care of you. They won't let you starve. -
Could you afford to live in the UK compared to Thailand?

My friend John "relocated" back to the UK. Free housing and medical care over there. He "lost" all his money here with not so wise "investments". Did he want to move? No. But at least over there he could survive for free. -
Living in Thailand vs living in America?

There are also some very disturbing statistics about the knowledge of many Americans. "About 11 percent of young citizens of the U.S. couldn't even locate the U.S. on a map. The Pacific Ocean's location was a mystery to 29 percent; Japan, to 58 percent; France, to 65 percent; and the United Kingdom, to 69 percent." So that the Thai girls are impressed when the Thai boys take them out for "dinner". Darling, something very special today. ???? -

The question is obviously if you want a fresh one or one which was already worn by your favorite Soi 6 girl. ????

The land of the free... -
Over the years I bought a couple of cheap (maybe 500B to 1000B) multimeters. They all did the job. 99% of the time I used them for low voltages. So even if the isolation would have been not good my life was 99% of the time not in danger. One problem of cheap multimeters seems to be the high voltage isolation. I.e., they might claim they are isolated up to 1000V. Now would you trust a 200B multimeter for testing high voltage? I bought recently one of these: https://brymen.co.th/catalog/ They are certainly more expensive than the cheap once. But in the big picture I think spending a few thousand THB on a high-quality multimeter is not a bad idea.

FLUKE is obviously good quality. But there is another reason why they are a lot more expensive than others. I found Dave's videos about them very interesting.

Thanks for your comment. I looked at the replies to my posts many hours before you posted this, and I realized I was wrong because I misunderstood the original post. This is why I apologized as soon as I realized that, and I explained why I made that mistake. If you would have read the first (and currently only) page of that thread, then you would have seen my apology and explanation.

I have to apologize for any confusion/misunderstanding. When I initially read the first post, I thought this is about one or several power outlets with incorrect connected N and L. I wrote it shouldn't matter and I am pretty sure if this would be just about the power outlets then it really wouldn't matter. But please correct me if I am wrong. For the whole electrical installation in a house the N and L should obviously be connected correctly.
