  1. Trump is constantly lying. That should not be a surprise for anybody. And now his pal Musk adds his own lies - and promotes them on Twitter. The brave new world.
  2. It's funny, I recently saw a video from an American relatively young guy who lives now in Thailand. He said when he meets women, obviously online, they don't have to write much about themselves. He just looks at their Insta history to know everything about them. And he said if that Insta history is only a year old or so, that is suspicious. I guess that is the new world for many young people. If you don't have ton of pictures and videos of you online, then you kind of don't exist. Sad.
  3. My comment was a reply to "Each and every day, Thailand is looking like a bad place to work or retire....." If you work, obviously legally with work permit, it's no problem. If people work illegally then they should be surprised that there are problems.
  4. Wow, two pages of interesting long posts. That's the way a forum should be. Maybe the Americans are still sleeping. I guess in the next hours they will wake up and then we will have the typical stupid comments. Thanks to all of you for good and respectful post.
  5. Util now they didn't have to do that. Now, with Trump, they have to, and they are motivated to do something. I am sure it will take some time, but the direction from here is pretty clear.
  6. When I grew up in Europe we had the cold war. And then the Berlin Wall was destroyed, Germany was reunited, and the future looked bright. At that time, it seems we all thought things will only get better. European countries reduced the size of their military and there were talks about dissolving NATO because the enemy USSR didn't exist anymore. If anybody would have suggested spending more money on weapons people would not have voted for this. Like, where is the enemy? Why should we spend a lot of money? And then the USA started wars with Iraq and Afghanistan. And later European soldiers joined them. Why? It seems to me like: We have anyhow those soldiers, send then down there. How many people in Europe wanted to see their soldiers in Afghanistan? Few! And then, sometime later, Russia invaded Ukraine. It seems that was a surprise for most of us. We just didn't think any invasion of a country nearby was a possibility. We found out it really happened and is still happening. And I think that was the moment that Europe, not really united, woke up and realized there is no peace anymore and soldiers and weapons are necessary again. But this happened slowly. And everybody knew we had our friends, the Americans, with the big weapons... And then Trump happened, again. And now Europeans can't pretend anymore that Trump (1) was just a stupid mistake which Americans wouldn't do again. Now Europeans really understand that they can't reply on America and NATO anymore. It was drastic, and people say Europeans should have woken up earlier. They didn't. But I think now Europeans realize that they need a better defense. And they will work on that. It just takes time.
  7. I never saw such videos. But then, I also don't use social media. As far as I know the users are presented with what the "supplier" thinks is best suitable for you. Watch a couple of those videos and you will see more of the same. Maybe next time click on cat or car videos and get more of them. It depends on you what is presented to you.
  8. Why would you buy one from Lazada and not an online or offline computer shop?
  9. On the way into the plane, it's similar. As soon as the airline employees come to the gate, people stand up and wait in a row. The row is getting longer and longer, and people wait and wait. What's the point? I normally sit until most others are through the gate. Until now the plane never left without me. Somehow most passengers haven't worked out that part.
  10. I sit and read a book or something like that. I agree that it is just stupid to get up and stress yourself that you have to wait standing. What's the point?
  11. Change "Muslim" to "person" and that sums it up. There are always some people who seemed to be harmless to everybody around them and then suddenly they do crazy things. That happens in all countries, religions, male, female, whatever. It's just a fact of life.
  12. What happened to your hooker from Kho Chang?
  13. You have style - or maybe not?
  14. Why should I respond to the rest of your statement when it starts with garbage? Maybe think twice before you start typing. And if you don't know what you write about then don't do it.
  15. Just read the very post in this thread. It's about nuclear weapons. Now, does the USA have these weapons to use them within their country? Then it would be a domestic issue. But that is not the idea about those deadly weapons. That should be obvious, but it seems you don't understand it. Sad.
  16. Because often American politics impacts the whole word. Not just the nukes, also Ukraine, Gaza, and many other issues. It would be great if Americans would live over there and just built a big wall around themselves. Unfortunately, they don't do that.
  17. No, my bike is restricted to me and cute girls. And because my gf wouldn't be happy if I take other cute girls for a ride that means my bike is restricted to me riding and her sometimes on the back.
  18. Please remind me, how many Christians committed crimes in [insert your favorite location]. If one did it, are they all guilty? The world is not black and white, for everybody who looks this is obvious. But some people are so stupid that they can't process that the world is complicated. They only want to see black and white. Some of those wear red caps and dream about a future which should be good like the past - the only problem is that that past never existed.
  19. I don't like that some people like to see everything in black and white. Like all Muslims are bad. That is just wrong! I know enough Muslims to know there are many reasonable Muslims out there. And obviously I see the news and know there are some extremists. How many are reasonable and how many are extremists? I don't know. We make our lives not better by trying to put people in the good or bad box depending on religion and other criteria.
  20. I have to admit I would never do that. The same as I wouldn't have more than 2 people on a bike. It's too dangerous and I wouldn't want to be responsible for any injuries or worse in case of an accident.
  21. Heavy in this context for me is anything which does not fit in a backpack or is too heavy for a packpack. On a bike I manage a 5kg bag of rice. That is about as big I accept on my bike.
  22. Lower Sukhumvit. 90% of my motorcycle trips are less than 3km. And I have no kids and want no kids.
  23. Really? Would it make you feel better if I would list some good things which they did? The war which Putin started in Ukraine puts him in the bad category for me. And Trump, just his latest stupid Gaza Rivera comments are enough to blow up that whole region. I think that is pretty bad. And obviously there are many many other items to add to that bad list. Bost of them can't be trusted and should not be trusted. It's good to stay away from both of them.
  24. As far as I know in general if you have a work permit, banks ask for the salary statements for the last three months and other documents like the passport and then you get a credit card. I never tried it without work permit.
