    Surely no insurance company is paying out on this epidemic of Indians claiming on stolen gold chains? I imagine a verifiable receipt would need to be produced as well as being mentioned on the insurance policy. I wonder if police are viewing any of the security cam footage that might capture alleged theft?

    AFAIK the bank letter is not signed by the customer. No doubt his passport would need to be seen by bank staff.

    They were a bunch of drunken louts who didn't want to accept responsibility for their actions, but one was "brave" enough to sucker punch a Thai and then scarper. No way it can be justified.

    More likely they were drunk with no insurance and tried to scarper rather than face their responsibilities.

    My one and only accident in Thailand involved me clipping a Thai on a m'bike who came through on my inside. I immediately rang the insurance agent and let him negotiate with the Thai guy. I didn't get involved at all. If these Brits had no insurance, then no sympathy.

    Instead the Brits "king hit or sucker punch" someone and run away. Real heroes, not.

    If they'd got the sh*t kicked out of them it would have been richly deserved. They were the aggressors.

    My aim was to point out that getting a legitimate driving licence in Thailand means nothing and that she would be a danger to herself and others behind the wheel. At least she has the common sense to recognise that, plenty of others don't.

    My Thai partner obtained her licence a few months ago through a legitimate driving school. She had two days of lessons and a day of written test. Guess what, she doesn't have a clue how to drive and is scared sh*tless to get behind the wheel in Pattaya. Why she bothered I don't know.
