I am looking for a Pattaya based lawyer with experience dealing with all necessary departments, helping me to get a WP for an existing company with everything that is included, and later setting up the accounting for the company with everything including SS payments etc.
Current lawyer who does the annual tax procedure for the company is not experienced in anything WP related in Pattaya.TIA... and just to mention: no, not a bar or restaurant or a massage shop...

No passport copies or a TM47 form is needed according to many reports about Jomtien.
Correct. Jomtien only needs the old 90d slip with the barcode to scan in. As of now, for all people doing 90d, they collect your passport outside the office, then you sit down and approx. 10-15 min later they bring the passport back outside.

Am I reading this incorrectly. Your friend dealt with the Kanchanaburi immigration but is 500 KM away from their office?
"500km return" is 250km one way... or last least that is how I understand what was written by the OP... uuups... by me????
But I am so glad you caught the essence of my post so quickly...

yes....what I said it was it looked suprisingly like the official 'standardized' slip that all offices used for 90 day reporting dates. Which implies that they are centrally designed, hoping that all offices don't have them in the queue.
I have seen pics of this slip from various other offices, they are used in line with police order 35/2562 and they are - at least currently - only used for extensions based on retirement. So to answer your question, they seem to be centrally designed. If you are on any other extension / Visa, you will not have seen such a slip.

They really do not want anymore tourists... 3 weeks of quarantine when you have a total of 4-5 weeks of holiday available per year from your work...

Jesus..it never ends does it ?
What concerns me is that slip looks surprisingly like the standard 90 day slip all offices use now. I wonder if the rest will go that route too.
This is NOT a 90d slip, this is the fund-proof-slip for retirement Visa. the 90d slip does not mention anything about funds, neither the one from online nor the one from immigration.
But yes, changes in immigration rules, probably on an office by office basis, can surprise you, sometimes on the wrong foot.

Situation from a friend from Kanchanaburi immigration: Renewal of retirement extension with 800K in bank on December 14, 2020. Received a sticker to proof the 800K in bank again on 14 February, 2021 during his 90d report, instead of 14 March, 2021 as per police order, see Sticker 1 attached. On 11 February, 2021 during 90d report showed proof and received a new sticker requiring to come back 3 months later (on May 11) to show proof of funds again in office, see Sticker 2 attached.
Friend is of course more than just angry that he has to drive again 500km return to the immi office and also, this means that 90d reports for retirees would never again be possible online. Question, specially of course @ubonjoe : Is this really a new requirement or is it just this immi office making things up on-the-go, because they messed the first fund reporting date which should have ben in March? It is not about the proof itself, as he does not touch this account anyway, but the hassle of having to go back and forth without real legal basis

I have signed up a while ago for newsletters for 2 clubs, Pattaya Expat Club and Pattaya City Expat Club. Both seem to have regular meetings if they can, both offer some level of services through their members... but what is really the difference between these clubs, anybody know, maybe somebody who joins both clubs?
Just wondering about any benefits joining the one or the other or maybe both. Can not see any such benefits from the mails only

From here, you can see how much space has been used on your device, and by what type of content. The Storage Sense feature will automatically remove temporary files, Recycle Bin items, and other items you may not need. Here’s how to view your internal storage and clear space quickly.
Kind of funny to expect people in an IT related forum to click on links in a stranger's post... I would not do it, even if I would need such information, I would google it myself and then click only on links trusted by my security software products. Just saying...

I prefer the PCX for the stability coming from the weight, specially when you are a bit bigger than in your youth and regularly have adult passengers with you.

Plenty of places open for food and beer, both cheap and expensive and thousands of foreigners are living here and have no issues whatsoever. When you will go out for party (assuming your wallet is plenty full), you will be VERY welcome, as the party places that ARE open do not have too many customers, so you will be given proper attention ????. However: Don't expect all places to be open, the mood is pretty down with many empty/closed bars and shops and Walking Street nothing it was before.
That said.. you just don't know what is going to happen within the next 6 months, bar closures etc. can happen within days, if the virus situation again gets out of control - but that is the same everywhere now.

I'm looking at getting a water filtration system installed. Just for drinking water.
I see there is significant variations in cost and wondering if anybody has had experience with cheaper versions and what the benefits are of going to the more expensive. They seem like a fairly basic concept to me and I find it difficult to understand why the costs would be so significantly different, apart from increasing profit margins. Where I'm happy to pay the right product I don't subscribe to the belief that you get what you pay for, so I want to arm myself with some good information.
I also understand that there are considerations for filtration cartridge costs down the track, so this may come into the equation?
Also one other thing that I have noticed, from my very limited experience, is that the water flow is quite slow. Maybe this is somehow improved or more expensive models?
Thanks in advance.
PS This will sound ridiculous, but so it does not derail the thread, I'm not really interested in comments regarding the quality or taste of the water at this stage.
Your post scriptum actually sounds VERY ridiculous, as the whole IDEA of a filtration system is to improve the quality, health and taste of the water coming in to going out...
If your water quality (incoming) is very bad (dirty, smelly), then you will need a bigger system with higher cleaning / disinfecting quality which ultimately will cost you more. If your water is already of pretty good quality (i.e. from your own well), then you will not need a high-end system and no system with integrated UV filters etc. and then you can save money. Do you have a water tank? If so, then most of the dirt in the incoming water can already settle and you might again not need a too big system.
Filter systems normally to not impact the water flow speed, or at least not substantially. Water speed has to do with the incoming water pressure which you can improve with the right pump (not too big, otherwise the water lines could burst, specially on joints).

Few points, as I have made wills for both me and wife, involving children:
- you should think about setting up two wills, one for all US assets and one for all Thai assets. The Thai will should be in Thai and English, set up and notarized in Thailand through a lawyer. With only a US will mentioning the Thai assets, this will would have to be translated and verified and put in front of a Thai court to be accepted under Thai laws. This will be a considerable work for the executor of the will. Having a Thai will has the additional advantage that once your death is established in front of a Thai court of law, any Thai relatives will have no chance to grab the land off your son while a US will goes through all the legal hoops.
- you will of course be aware that your son - being non-Thai - can inherit your house and land BUT will have to dispose of it, normally within a year (that would be the case for me and the land I would inherit from my Thai wife). If he would now have the Thai citizenship, he could keep the land and house and later do with it what he wants. Withholding it from him only makes this particular matter much more complicated.
- your will will need to specify both guardianship and executor of the will. The executor (normally a Thai person with the help of a lawyer) will go through all the legal proceedings enabling change of names on the chanote, bank accounts etc. The Guardian would then need to either dispose of house of land on behalf of your son or keep the assets together until your son is of age to take them over himself. Guardian and Executor can be the same, but given that you live in the US, I assume that you would have a US guardian and a separate Thai executor.
Good thing that you want to prepare for such an event, will pray for you that you will not need it.

I did not have this issue, I renewed my extension of stay retirement visa on 17 April, 2020, my continuing 90 day report prior to the extension was done online on May 07, 2020 (due on May 16, 2020) and approved with no issues.
This is a new problem that immigration introduced with the latest update to their systems. I could also do my prior update in November 2020.
You are not affected up to your next annual renewal and after that only, if they did not fix the issue until then.

Another option (my preferred one): Clean regularly, enable air flow in bath room (with fan if no windows) and you don't get mold..
How somebody can wait with cleaning his appartment until mold shows up or grout turns black evades me.

I cannot remember where I previously heard that you had to do a personal pre set up application with Jomtien (it was on Thai-Visa though)
Anyway thanks for the info, just one more point you can do it 14 days prior to the date but not before 7 days , is that correct?
Once again thank you for your imput
Online, you can do it 7-15 days in advance, outside this period, online reporting is not possible.

Please be aware of the fact that at present, the first 90d report after an annual extension of stay does NOT work in the online systems and must be done in the immigration office, no matter whether you have done online reports before or not.
We can only wait for immigration to fix this bug in their system.

I am having the same issue on both app and website (no matter the browser, even with IE). Both tell me to visit immigration, even though I am within the correct time period. App shows that I am on "normal" overstay status with the date from November 2020, when I got my current extension valid through November 2021. So clearly another mess-up within the immigration databases. I doubt, they will ever get it correct. Luckily for me, I only live 10 min from immigration, so it will be a nice morning trip today.

First: I am not against technology at all, but all the technology has its rightful place. Pre-heat / pre-cool can be important to keep i.e. emergency vehicles in a ready-to-go state in deep winter (fire trucks) or hot summer (ambulance).
Second: Millions of cars running unnecessary produce significant emissions while running when stopped. Millions of selfish people who don't think beyond the tip of their nose.
Car Idling in modern technology terms means that the engine STOPS when the car comes to a stop and that is not what you want, since it would also stop the A/C.
Have you checked the air quality lately? Thanks for contributing to it...

Never read anything about motorway use for > 400cc, not even discussions.
And anyway... the way people drive on highways, change lines without looking.. not sure, I would want to use my bike there, even if allowed...
