Thai Police Prepare for PM Election Day Protests
Exactly. Instead of streetwise celebrations for a new PM as voted for by the majority, the authorities already know there will likely be trouble due to the Senate shenanigans.

Occupation lockdown: Thailand’s Labour Ministry draws the line for foreigners, 27 out, 13 in the conditions
No.2. Motorcycle driving excluding forklift operation? Never seen a two wheeled forklift. No.19. Agent / Broker services. Seen a few foreign insurance brokers here. No.21. Cigarette rolling. Does that include rolling splifs in all these cannabis shops?

Help, against good advice offered here, I married my long term GF in Isaan. Coming apart, advice please.
If you kick her out, you might be able to find a foreigner lodger. That will give some company, perhaps a little protection against her sending anyone to make your life a misery, or even trying to threaten or hurt you., and even provide a little income. Alternatively employ a housekeeper for a small wage. I understand your desire to stay in your home, and you would have to check if this would be legal, but as a last resort, if things got really nasty and you are forced to leave, pack your bags and possessions, hire a back hoe and demolish to the place before departing for good.

Appliance and electronics - almost scams
The other thing to consider here is that the electricity supply is pretty dirty. All sorts of surges and dropped phases. Also ants that get attracted for some reason to circuit boards. I have had to replace the circuit board in my Smeg oven several times due to both ants shorting things out, and power surges burning things out. The last time, the Smeg technician told me it might be a good idea to turn off my oven at the circuit breaker when not in use as these power surges are working out to be quite expensive for me.

Marine department pushing for cruise ship terminals in Phuket, Pattaya, Samui
The seas are pretty shallow around Samui. especially Nathon. That would involve some serious dredging to build a deep water terminal. for those big cruise liners. I doubt they could use the current ferry terminals.

Is it okay to lie to your partner of 5 years?
Until you get your usufruct signed, you have no rights to the property so if you intend to continue living there if things go wrong, get it signed in your name quickly.. Even then, if you split up and she wants it, she can make your life a misery. Also. Going by your figures of losing 200-400 baht / day, she is losing 6000 -12000 baht / month just on her phone games. If she is gambling elsewhere as well, that is potentially even more loss. Your suspicions will continue to eat away at you now so you need to find out what is going on.

Too Many Adverts Now.
Most forums have, indeed need rules to prevent threads descending into chaos. Many threads on here turn to name calling and worse. So rules are needed. Updating maybe, but certainly needed.

My marriage is heading south. Dont know what to do.
Just a suggestion: Is there a Kumon Maths Centre near you? Maybe you could both try and go 50-50. Meet in the middle. Take you child out of the high pressure school maths program and enroll him in a Kumon Maths course where they would still get some homework, but not too much. That might keep the wife happy while reducing the workload on the child. GF's daughter does 2 x 1hr lessons per week after school. Gets some homework, but nothing lke you are describing. She is way in front of her classmates in maths. Many international school kids go there after school. I drop her off, then go and have a coffee until she has finished, so it does take some of my time, but it is paying off.

Mini bus driver caught on viral video threatening to hit foreigner with iron bar in Phuket
I went to Phuket for the weekend a month or so ago. Having previously read about all the scams with the minibuses, taxi mafia etc., I decided not to bother using any taxis or buses and went online a rented a car instead. Was met at the airport by a polite gentleman with the car. Much more convenient and probably much much cheaper.

Induction cookers and frying pans?
Are you only using plastic or wooden utensils with the non stick pan? Using steel one can quickly scratch off the coating. I even had that happen with a non stick Le Creuset milk saucepan and that wasn't cheap. Had to throw it away. So it can happen to even the best quality ones. Now I use a wooden or plastic spatula with my non stick pots and pans.

Thai Mobile Banking Apps Crash On Payday, Transfers Put Off
There will be data collected on everything an individual both earns and spends. From medical bills and what medicines they buy, (no more privacy there), to everywhere you go, The governments, insurance companies and banks must be rubbing their hands with glee at this. Total control os the populace by controlling their ability to earn or spend if they step out of line.

Which vet did you go to on Samui? There are several. Maybe try the one opposite Chaweng Post Office. You might get different advice, or they might know somewhere.

SCB ending SCB Easy Net internet banking.
Can you use the SCB Easy Net online banking for now? They aren't shutting it down until the 14th. What with banks going to app only banking and the government pushing digital baht, it looks like the public's control of their own money will soon be taken away.

Insect Warning.....Kill them, Kill them........NOW
German cockroach and American cockroach are the two species most commonly found in Thailand. The German variety is the most likely to invade your condo, and the larger American type is the one you'll see scurrying out of a drain and across the street.
