The only reason I think the OP can't find his desired foods in Tops or Big C is because of shortages due to logistic problems, bad weather and / or Christmas. If it makes it more likely to catch a criminal, I don't see that it would cause any prejudice. Male, Caucasian, approx 200lbs, wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt would be more effective than just male blue jeans and t-shirt. In fact it could prevent wrongful arrest. I have been both visiting and living in Thailand since the early '90's. Also visited several other Asian countries. Including quite a few Philippine destinations. Perhaps it's because I tend to stay mainly in tourist areas, but even when I have ventured further afield I can't recall ever feeling like the 'token' white guy. Had a few double takes. But that's to be expected. Friendly people saying hello or asking where I am from. Never been asked to pose for photos. Maybe they can surmise that I would charge them. ???? Rural China might be a different kettle of fish. But I haven't been there.
