  1. GF said its been reported on the news that he has now left Thailand. Don't know where or how?
  2. Didn't an old couple get sentenced to some ridiculously long jail sentence for foraging mushrooms on government land? Not sure I would want to risk it.
  3. People will complain about their lot wherever they are. including 'back home'. Not just Thailand. Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Social Security, Banks pensions, crime, taxes, passport applications taking too long, getting visa for Thai GF fat-ex wives The list goes on and on. Feel free to add more.
  4. The person that he had sex with should be worried. Its possible he either caught it from them, or infected them. If so, and it was a sex worker, there will likely be more cases coming to light soon.
  5. You confused me by giving T sizes. It looks to be around 3mm or 4mm ordinary hexagon or Allen key socket. But it may be an imperial size rather than metric. Are your keys metric? You might need to find a set of imperial ones. Maybe 1/8" , 5/32", or even 3/16" They sell them in HomePro. EDIT. I see you already tried imperial.
  6. Well done to her. That takes a lot of hard work. Anyone got her number? I've got some heavy furniture that needs moving. ????
  7. A lot of Thais I know travel to Bangkok from Surat Thani Airport because the fares are so much cheaper than Bangkok Air and it avoids the long bus journey. There will likely be minibus services to the airport as there already are with the ferries. One's own car or even motorbike is also a possibility for those prepared to do it to save money. Just park it there for the return.
  8. But people might be prepared to drive to Surat Thani airport and fly from there. Apparently much cheaper fares from there to BKK.
  9. Will I have to know someone of importance to gain a place? Or pay a backhander?
  10. No. But the taxi driver will be rubbing their hands with glee. If it does ever come to fruition, it might at least finally force Bangkok Airways to drop their prices.
  11. Must have cost the taxi driver more in petrol than it was worth to return it. ????
  12. Forgive my ignorance, but why build a bridge to Khanom? Donsak looks much closer.
  13. I'm currently watching re-runs of the old "Bush Tucker Man" Aussie TV series, starring Major Les Hiddins. Where he drives around the bush in the Northern Territories, explaining what can and cannot be eaten in a survival situation. Pity they don't do a remake, because there is some beautiful scenery that would look great in 4K
  14. A lot of this started in the UK, with Esther Rantzen when she started her ChildLine children's protection charity. A few years ago she took part in a documentary where a female child actor stood in the middle of a busy train station looking lost and confused. A few women approached her to ask if she was lost or OK. No men at all. One went into a shop and pointed out the girl to a female staff member. When asked by Esther Rantzen why he didn't ask her himself, he said it was too risky. That he could be accused of being a paedophile. She admitted that things had gone too far in the other direction, and that men were now scared to even try and help a child possibly in trouble, and that was never her intention.
  15. I tried it, but it wouldn't accept my Thai debit card. Kept saying enter a valid card number.
  16. You say they don't get damaged. I have a plastic one set the cement in a tiled floor. About fourteen years old. The plastic has deteriorated and broken away where the screws hold the socket. Now I have to try and get the old box out from the cement to replace without damaging the ceramic floor tiles. I wish they had installed a metal one.
  17. A very inefficient "Big Brother." Each dressed in a pseudo military uniform to make them feel important.
  18. Was moored off Bangrak for about a week. Probably moved to Chaweng side when those big winds arrived. Or maybe Samui taxi fares from Bangrak to Chaweng were too expensive. ????
  19. A lot of the Samsung models come with different size memory. So for instance you can often buy exactly the same model, but with say 64Gb, 128Gb, 512Gb. Unlike Apple phones, Samsungs usually have a slot for a memory card, so you can add more yourself. The Samsung A33 5G Dual SIM looks a pretty good mid range phone to me, but you have to decide what features you need. See here for more info.: https://www.expansys.in.th/samsung-galaxy-a33-5g-dual-sim-369169/
  20. I think the caché of being employed as aircrew has long gone. Lower pay, cost cutting, creation of low cost airlines etc. The reality of the job is it's not that great anyway. Many aircrew were probably stuck in a rut. Pushing them out, and thereby forcing them to look for different work? I doubt many are keen to return unless there are massive pay increases and better job perks. Personnel shortages across the industry from baggage handlers all the way up is a large part of the problem.
