  1. That's a good point, but I doubt his employees are. I don't know how much an issue it will be. I do recall reading about California trying to punish companies that leave, by their tax laws. But I'm sketchy on the details since my brain leaks when I sleep. I'm hoping I egged on some California experts to weigh in.
  2. Tell the truth. Did they ask AI to post the stupidest, least well researched replies possible, and turn it loose here on AN? Is it a beta test of AI's ability to trash a forum's value by taking so many threads off the rails?
  3. But can they replace the jobs? I watched the little bit that I could (with X blocked here), and it seems that the trans laws were just the last straw that pushed him over the fence. He also focused on runaway crime and employee safety (mentioned in the OP). But losing contact with his kid, who transitioned without his knowledge, had to sting. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'm not clear on the details, but California has some bizarre rules about collecting state income taxes even after people have left the state. Maybe there's similar rules about taxes from businesses that flee, but someone more familiar will have to weigh in. I left Cali in the mid '90s. On another level, if he wanted to ding Newsom's chances in a presidential run, this move would do it... But that's the cynical me speaking.
  4. They're not saying you can get away with living in Thailand on visa exempt. Even people flying in (where there is no arbitrary limit) are being scrutinized if it looks like they're abusing the privilege. They also seem to be recognizing that the 2 land crossing limit is costing Thailand a lot of sweaty tourist money. I suspect there will still be scrutiny of abusers, but the extremely arbitrary 2 crossing limit by land was probably cutting tourist numbers and spending by millions a year. This is great news for many! I hope it's not a false alarm, never implemented. We'll see.
  5. I haven't followed JD Vance's career closely enough to know if this analysis is correct. But I do have my fingers crossed. Former President Donald Trump’s pick of Republican Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance as his vice president could speed the GOP’s departure from a “permanent conflict” approach to national security, should Trump win in November, former U.S. officials and defense experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation. https://dailycaller.com/2024/07/17/jd-vances-vp-nod-could-be-final-nail-in-coffin-of-the-forever-war-wing-of-gop-experts-say/
  6. The current situation is a warmonger's creamy dream.
  7. Tom, Dick and Sally. He wanted to get the acronym right.
  8. What's the functional difference between that, and the Dem PAC that's withholding $90 million until Biden steps down?
  9. You don't hear Lizzo singing? The sound is deafening.
  10. You may want to call Van Jones and tell him how wrong he is. I didn't write this stuff. I just quoted it.
  11. The Dem elite would see that as a small price to pay to keep their functional puppet in the White House. I'm just as afraid that they'll start yet another discretionary war.
  12. It's also possible that she was focusing on the dollar signs in her head, knowing what that video could be worth.
  13. Here's a quote, coming from Trump hater Van Jones: But today is a terrible day. If you just — if you pull back and look at this thing, strength versus weakness a bullet couldn‘t stop Trump, a virus just stopped Biden,” The Democrats are coming apart. The Republicans are coming together. That‘s what‘s happening. https://dailycaller.com/2024/07/17/van-jones-calls-out-biden-stopped-covid/ The fat lady may not have sung, but she's all warmed up.
  14. The only sure thing is that Dem voters won't be making the decision. So who is the real threat to democracy?
  15. Ask yourself what conclusion the cops could draw that would have the smallest negative impact on tourism.
  16. She would have been ahead saying, "There's an ongoing investigation, not all the facts are in, not all interviews are finished, and it would not be prudent to say anything at this time. I'll report when we know." Rookie mistake.
  17. The problem with robots are (or maybe were) pre-industrial conventions that require the presence of a warm body to stake a legal claim. If they find anything worthwhile, they'll be swamped with competing claims, resulting in robot wars.
  18. Love the shirt! This is a screenshot of a Fox breakfast event at a restaurant near the RNC. That was quick...
  19. There's a lot of liars out there that better hope Trump wins. Because if he loses, he'll have plenty of spare time and energy to sue them all. In a Red state, like Florida. Could double his net worth, easily.
  20. Did the composite value of the Dow go up more or less than the national debt did yesterday? This year? (I'd ask about the whole Biden term, but most of the gains were recovering from Covid, along with all the Covid BidenBucks that were used to buy back stock instead of keeping the peons employed like they were meant to.
  21. Not meaning this to be a pointed question (from a smartass Yank, no less). What is it that makes it unattractive? Low pay? Lack of respect? Bad living conditions? Poor advancement prospects? Bad family situation? I'm asking, not suggesting. I'd like to understand, since they seem bound and determined to take us into WW3. Hopefully on the same side if they do... (That was a dig, but pointed at the US as well as the Euros)
  22. When I'm on my monthly visits to Thailand, I love watching the YouTube montages of 10 or 20 MSM hacks all repeating the same Dem talking points, on the same day, using the exact same words. In the past, I used to wonder whether they all received their orders from Dem Central. That question was laid to rest when Musk bought Twitter and the Twitter files came out. They do...
  23. Give it up. You can't undo 9 years of Lefty MSM indoctrination. No matter how disingenuous it was, they're still going to believe it.
  24. Fighting over oil is sooo yesterday. Lunar wars will be over 3He,or He3, or however you write Helium 3. https://www.edinformatics.com/math_science/what-is-helium-3.html
  25. You could always go to their referenced New York Times article to prove them wrong. I can't, because NYT is blocked here. Or did you just look at the link, post a snide comment, and not bother to click and read it?
